Welcome to the One-Shot Manga Cafe! 🌸

Many of you first discovered us as a manga cafe in Toronto. We have since evolved into a manga bookstore.

WHO WE ARE
Canadian manga bookstore and cafe in spirit. Here to serve up peak fiction one shot at a time.

HOW IT STARTED
After a year of planning and prep, the cafe opened its doors in Toronto. It was a short and bittersweet run. We made the difficult decision to close due to exorbitant costs. That was the end of one chapter.

HOW IT'S GOING
But the story was far from over. Manga sales on our online store were solid enough that we decided to keep the website going. So, we went all-in on selling manga.

In June 2025, we opened a pop-up bookstore in Chinatown Centre to complement our online store. That pop-up is now a permanent fixture in 222 Spadina Market.

Please note that we are a manga bookstore now (cafe in name only). Many have asked if the actual cafe will ever return. Unfortunately, the answer is no. We have exited the food business completely.

We haven't been very active on social media. Not trying to be influencers or even trying to go viral. Just working on the business in silence.

The One-Shot Manga Cafe has a new home in Toronto’s Chinatown Centre: 222 Spadina Market!

Our cafe days may be behind us, but we’ve leveled up into a manga bookstore, and stocking up on manga, light novels, and more for collectors and casuals alike.

You’ll find us in the back half of 222 Spadina Marketplace, sharing space with other amazing local vendors who bring their own flavor to the mix.

📢 BIG NEWS 📢 One-Shot Manga Cafe begins a new chapter as an independent manga bookstore in Chinatown Centre! We will be sharing the space with 222 Spadina Market. Great synergy and all that.

If you swing by the store, you’ll get to see the prep. You should drop in anyway because the Underground Market is awesome. This isn’t even our final form, so stay tuned for more updates including our official opening date.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce The One-Shot Manga Café has officially closed. We want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who supported us since we opened our doors 6 months ago.

Whether you dropped in to chill, ordered on Uber Eats, donated manga volumes, or even just the simple act of engaging us on social media—your support means the world to us. We only wish we could have kept spinning a little longer.

But this is not the end—it’s a new beginning. As the saying goes, “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”

Our journey continues online! Our website is still active, and we’re excited to evolve into an online bookstore and snack store. We hope you’ll stick with us as we grow and explore new possibilities.

We’re updating our hours effective October 7th! Starting this week, The One-Shot Manga Café will be closed on Mondays, but don’t worry—we’ll still be here for you on the following days:

📅 Tuesday to Thursday: 10 AM - 6 PM
📅 Friday to Sunday: 10 AM - 8 PM
