At GEORGE Restaurant this week, Mentorship at the Table brought S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy’s emerging talent and their mentors together with an all-star gathering of Canada’s culinary community.
Chef Lorenzo Loseto revisited his 2014 Gold Medal Plates (now called Canadian Culinary Championship 🏆) winning dish: potato-wrapped tuna with jasmine soya and heirloom carrot, served alongside Cave Spring Vineyard 2023 CSV Riesling. Corn agnolotti with beef ribeye and chimichurri followed, with cappuccino gelato, apple and pomegranate arriving just in time for the afternoon’s panel conversation.
Over dessert, Chefs Jamie Kennedy, Jason Bangerter, Lorenzo Loseto and Victoria Risma shared perspectives on mentorship, developing a distinctive culinary voice and what one generation of chefs can offer the next.
Gold & Fife was proud to curate and co-host this gathering in partnership with S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy. An honour and pleasure to make room at the table for the people shaping Canadian dining’s next chapter.
