ARTIST STATEMENT

“It started with a beginner painting class at The Studio in Stirling (The Studio in Stirling). I never guessed it would lead to a collection of work that would be put on display at my local coffee shop.

Watercolour taught me to trust the unexpected, to find joy in those unpredictable moments when the pigment decides its own path. It was through watercolour that I discovered a medium that refuses to be entirely controlled.

These paintings represent a deeply personal milestone, one that reestablishes my connection with nature and the community we live in.”

Crispy, oven-baked, rice balls made with a creamy risotto base and stuffed with savoury fillings. Choose from three flavours: Mozzarella, Meaty Ragu, or Creamy Mushroom. Served with garlic aioli for dipping.

Well...wasn't that a great day at Tweed's Front Porch Ruckus yesterday? The rain held off 'til the last 2 minutes of tearing down tents. It was wonderful to see folks of all ages out and about enjoying 22 sets of performers at 19 porches, free face painting, afterparties at the Cube Coffee Bar TWD and the Legion, and visiting with friends and family...We loved our new HQ location at the Parkette in 'downtown Tweed', so many visitors!

If you had a good time or you have some great pics, please post in the comments or send us a message. We had a team out doing photos, these will be sorted and then posted in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, here are just a few! thanks to everyone who made this happen: musicians, porch hosts, sponsors, our volunteers (including a crew from Foundations Youth Centre Tweed ), and a wonderful audience. See ya in 2027!

Tomorrow...Tweed’s Front Porch Ruckus on Sat., June 27! Here is the final map showing the location of the porches that are hosting 22 sets of performers (note Porch #6 has been cancelled due to illness). Look for the signs! Music will once again drift across the village of Tweed for another afternoon of free, family-friendly live music. The main event is 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, with two 'afterparties:'
1) 5 pm at the Legion with 'Break the Night', and
2) 4:30 pm to ? at the Cube Coffee Bar, featuring multiple performers, Thai finger foods and signature cocktails

The Ruckus transforms Tweed into an open-air music venue, with performers appearing on front porches, patios, lawns and other spaces scattered across the community. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stroll from location to location, discovering everything from folk, rock, pop and country to jazz and community band performances.

This year’s event headquarters is located at the Victoria Street parkette at 321 Victoria St. North in ‘downtown Tweed’, where visitors can pick up maps and information, enjoy complimentary water and take part in free face painting activities for children.

For this Saturday’s dinner event we have a special menu to accommodate the Tweed Front Porch Ruckus after party at Cube!

Enjoy an assortment of Thai small plates, including chicken satay, shrimp satay, and summer rolls with dipping sauce, lettuce wraps, and other surprises! Order a la carte and mix and match as many dishes as you like.
