The Irish eyes are definitely smiling on us - as is the SUN; as we begin the 2026 International Hakomi Congress today, in Wicklow Town, IE.

Welcome to everyone from around the world - Canada, Iceland, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Israel, Austria, Ukraine, Estonia, USA, UK, Germany, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, and of course Ireland and more. This is what makes Hakomi Education Network truly global - individuals and Training sites from around the world, coming together to connect, learn, deepen and share in moments that transcend borders, politics and timezones (says the girl from 🇨🇦 who is running on caffeine and wisps of jet lag!).

An honour and a privilege to be here to support and represent HEN. Looking forward to sharing more along the journey this week. A huge thanks to the Irish organizing committee who not only are the hardest working folks, but also the kindest and funniest. ☘️

Reflections on Legacy Salons w Andrea Freeman:

Andrea Freeman was asked to facilitate the Legacy Salon series and it has been a real joy working with her to bring these to life. Here we share two from the interview shared in the HEN monthly newsletter!

Any moments that surprised you during the series?
I loved learning more about Ron as a human. How he would become obsessed with some new science concept or lit up by a new article or book he read, and then would pretty quickly start to weave that into the Hakomi method. He was constantly refining and it surprised me how much the method changed right up until he died. I’m watching a lot of the Hakomi legacy library videos right now and I often see Ron starting a video by introducing a new concept and then making up a new exercise the group hadn’t done before. How interesting to learn Hakomi while it was in such evolution!

Anything you'd like to share with the community about the Salons, the future of Hakomi or anything related?
I really felt the stirring of invitation in the last Legacy Salon that was focused on the future. I could feel this invitation to step forward, to bring your ideas forward, to offer yourself in service to this work in the world. I could feel the legacy of hundreds of volunteers who have helped steward this work forward, and I could
feel the inner agitation in myself - what’s my part to play in this stewardship? I’m living that question now and it gives me a lot of excitement and hope for the future that there are so many, just like me, who have been forever changed by Hakomi and want to find ways to help this work deepen and grow.

哈科米取向：一場回到身與心的溫柔旅程
哈科米取向（Hakomi）是一種以正念為核心的身心整合方法（Mindfulness-centered somatic psychotherapy），透過溫柔而細膩的體驗式練習，幫助我們覺察當下正在發生的身心經驗，慢慢靠近內在深層的自己。
