Yesterday was our last service with behind the counter.
Five years ago, he walked into the shop and blessed us all with his kind heart, beautiful soul, and contagious smile. “Life is good” was his motto — and honestly, it always was when he was around.
No matter what the job demanded of him, he handled it with a great attitude and a big smile. Z was always the first to help anyone out, whether it was training someone at work or offering legal advice outside of it. From finding a lost puppy outside the store and keeping it safe until he was able to track down its family, to making sure your sandwiches came out fast and delicious every single time — he gave his all to this place and to the people around him.
Ziad, this isn’t goodbye, because I’m sure we’ll be seeing each other again real soon. This is simply a thank you.
Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your smile.
Thank you for your attitude.
Thank you for your help, guidance, and advice.
Thank you for treating this place like your second home.
Thank you for treating all of us like family.
And most of all, thank you for being you.
I have no doubt you’re going to kill it in your future endeavors. Be sure to follow his journey at
