We were so excited to hear that locals recommended Ryeteous Café, along with other great spots like Mama's Pizza and Nine in a Line. That's one of the things I love most about this community—we genuinely cheer each other on and want visitors to have a great experience.

My sibling, Kue Varo and their band, Kue Varo & The Only Hopes, are performing on the Coke Stage at the Calgary Stampede this Sunday! 🤩

Seeing this giant backdrop gave me all the feels. If you're heading to Stampede this weekend, be sure to stop by the Coke Stage and show them some love! We couldn't be prouder of everything they've accomplished.

I'll be open Wednesday (Canada Day) from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. I'll be flying solo while making sourdough, so it'll be a slightly simplified menu for the day.

🍲 Homemade soup (Beef Barley on Canada Day!)
🥪 Fresh sandwiches
🍰 Cakes, squares & sweet treats
☕ Hot coffee, tea & espresso drinks

🚫 Please note: There will be NO blended drinks on Canada Day (no frappes or smoothies). Just hot drinks, cozy soup, fresh bread, and good company!

🌾 Gluten-free option: We keep Promise gluten-free bread on hand. If you'd like a gluten-free sandwich, just call or text ahead and I'll happily make one! (Please note our kitchen is not celiac-safe due to the use of wheat flour.)

💙 A Little Business Update

Beginning July 1, GST will no longer be included in our menu prices and will instead be added at the till.

When we opened Ryeteous Café, we chose to absorb the GST ourselves to help keep our prices as affordable as possible. As food, supply, and operating costs continue to climb, we've reached the point where we simply can't keep doing that.

If you're one of our regulars who brings exact change for your morning coffee (we know there are a few of you! 😊), just keep in mind that your total will now be 5% higher to account for GST.

Owning a small business means making the occasional difficult decision so we can keep doing what we love—baking bread, making great coffee, and creating a place where people feel welcome. We appreciate your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you for your next coffee, soup, or sandwich.

Please note: Our kitchen uses regular wheat flour, so while we use gluten-free ingredients and bread, our kitchen is not suitable for those with celiac disease due to the risk of cross-contamination.
