Point Pelee Bird Tour guides are calling today a "Spectacular" bird day!! See below for the great species seen this morning. Today's photo is of a pair of nesting bluebirds we had on our property a few years back- photo courtesy of Mervyn Sequeira.

Good morning birders,
Another beautiful day to bird in Point Pelee. Birding is spectacular with many late migrants being reported.

People are reporting CONNECTICUT, MOURNING, CANADA and WILSON’S WARBLERS on various trails in the Park. Also YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER. A couple of CERULEAN WARBLERS have been found as well. Both BLACK-BILLED and YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS have been seen. A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT is still being
noted in the Cactus Field. PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS and RED-HEADED WOODPECKER are preparing their nest sites now. About 24 species of warbler have been seen in the Park so far today.

This is our last migration report of the season. Thanks for all the support from the birders who have come to the Festival of Birds and supported the Friends of Point Pelee through hikes, birder’s breakfast, and the Nook.

Good birding,
Pete, Mark, Felix, and all the other hike leaders (Stewart, Aaron, Julie, Max, Asher, Dale, Quinton, Julia, Sally, and Annika)

This morning's bird report found a few new warblers- they are still coming- slowly. Here's a juvenile oriole again by Mervyn Sequeira. We usually have a few pair of orioles that nest here and raise their young- orioles stay here until September usually.

Good morning birders,

It has been a cool morning with many birds scattered throughout the park.
The ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER, found yesterday on the seasonal trail north of
Dunes continues again today. HOODED WARBLERS were reported at Sleepy Hollow
and at Woodland Nature Trail. A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was also seen on the
Woodland Nature Trail. A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continues to be seen in
Tilden Woods. Further south in the park, a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was
reported on the west beach across from Sparrow Field.
Once the sun came up and the day got warmer, Tilden and Woodland became
full of birds, with many species of warbler noted among them. About 22
species of warbler have been noted so far today.

Good Birding,
Pete, Felix, Max, Julie, Mark, and Aaron.

It is a cool sunny day and migrating birds are scattered through the park.
2 WORM-EATING WARBLERS were on Redbud Trail and Tilden Woods. A SUMMER

the Tip near halfway point. GRASSHOPPER SPARROW at the tip as well as MARSH

A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen sitting in a tree just south of the
halfway stop on the road to the Tip. Tilden was busy with warblers
including CANADA WARBLER and BLACKPOLL WARBLER. The YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT in
the Cactus Field was showing well again today.

Good Birding,

Here's this mornings birding report!
Things are picking up slowly!

"Good morning birders,
This morning was cool, clear and sunny and has shown to be one of the best
days of migration so far during the festival. Many new migrants came in
overnight.

Birders gravitating towards the Tip saw a very minor Reverse, but some
birds were noted resting on the sand. The BLACK-HEADED GULL was seen with
the BONAPARTE‘s and other gulls. A couple of CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS were
seen on the sand with other sparrows along the east side of the Tip.

A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER has been reported from the north end of Tilden
Woods. A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was seen at the south end of Tilden Woods.
A BREWSTER‘S WARBLER (hybrid between has been reported from Redbud Trail,
as well as a amazing *3* YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT.
Another YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was noted on the east side of Delaurier Trail,
with another two in Cactus Field. A total of at least 8 YELLOW-BREASTED
CHAT have been seen throughout the Park today!
A WHITE-EYED VIREO was also seen on that trail in the northeast corner.
A FISH CROW still continues to noted here and there in the Point.
A SUMMER TANGER (female type) has been spotted 150 m north of Dunes Picnic
area moving west into the woods.
About 19 species of Warbler have been noted but birds are still in low
numbers.

Outside the Park, 6 WESTERN CATTLE EGRET were noted, and 1 was seen along
Mersea Road E. Near the Pelee Entrance.
The WHITE-FACED IBIS seen yesterday, continues at Hillman Shorebird Cell.
There was a flyby of 2 AMERICAN AVOCET at Wheatley Harbour.
A NORTHERN GANNET was reported from the south tip of Pelee Island.
And PIPING PLOVER continue at the East Beach Road sand bar.

We look forward to seeing what the rest of the day brings!

Good birding,
Pete, Max, Asher, Quinten, Dale, Aaron, and Mark"

And yet another photo from my Mervyn Sequeira archives to enjoy- hummingbird peeing while in flight. I remember the day he captured this moment- at our honeysuckle.

Here's today's bird report from Point Pelee- nice to see the warblers are showing up! At least 20 species at the Park this morning.
Here, at Wenzler's Landing we've had more Orioles showing up and the bird traffic is picking up. Love this photo of a finch doing a happy dance (by Mervyn Sequeira) - enjoy this stunning weather!

"Good morning birders,

Another lovely morning in the park with blue skies and sunshine! Some new
migrants arrived overnight, with many of the same species from the previous
day. The Tip had a few notable sightings including AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN,
a LEAST BITTERN sitting in a tree, and the first YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER
sighted during the 2026 Festival of Birds. A SCARLET TANAGER pleased many
observers.

The woods were similarly alive with birds, with at least three
YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS sighted on Redbud Trail, the Visitor Centre parking
lot, and Cactus Field. A few HOODED WARBLERS and BLUE-WINGED WARBLERS have
been spotted. A FISH CROW was seen observed flying over the Woodland Nature
Trail, likely the same individual that was first seen flying around the
Park yesterday afternoon.

At least 20 species of warblers have been observed today including NORTHERN
PARULA, BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER, PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, and BLACKBURNIAN
WARBLER.

Good birding,

Dale, Mark, Quinten, Asher, Max, and Aaron"

Today's bird report from Point Pelee! And a photo from my cache by Mervyn Sequeira of an oriole on one of our Tulip trees.

"This fine morning we were greeted by an influx of birds to cheer the birders. Both BALTIMORE ORIOLE and ORCHARD ORIOLE, INDOGO BUNTING, ROSE-BREASTED WARBLER and others have started to move through. WILSON WARBLER, MOURNING WARBLER, and MAGNOLIA WARBLER were also reported today.
A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT has been reported from Anders Footpath between the Cemetery and Tilden Woods.
There was a report of a PACIFIC LOON flying by the Tip this morning.
A SUMMER TANAGER was located at the north end of Tilden Woods, with several SCARLET TANAGERS. Also seen up that way were HOODED WARBLER and BLUE-WINGED WARBLER. BLUE-WINGED WARBLER was also noted on Redbud Trail.
A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was spotted near the north end of the Centre parking lot. PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS are still being seen at multiple wet spots on the Woodland Trail and Tilden Woods.
A MARSH WREN was seen just north of the parking lot on the Centennial Trail.
About 15 species of wood warblers have been reported so far today."

Good birding
Asher, Dale, Pete, Quinten, Stewart, Aaron.
