Each room has it's own private washroom/shower, cable TV, wifi, mini fridge, microwave, desk, chair and lockers (bring your own lock). There is a fully stocked communal kitchen in the Lodge, free wifi, local phone and parking. The Southside Lodge is only 200 meters from the Whistler Creek Gondola. Everything else you need is also within 100m of the Lodge (24Hr Grocery, Starbucks, Subway, Liquor St
ore, Pub, Restaurants, Ski/Board Shop, Etc). The Creekside Gondola accesses some of the best powder and free riding terrain in North America and served as the finish line for both the Men’s and Women’s 2010 Olympic Ski Races. The Southside Lodge is by far the closest hostel to the lifts in Whistler. The Southside Lodge has one of the premiere locations in Whistler. Built in the 70’s, in the heart of Whistler Creek at Whistler’s first traffic light (Hwy 99 & Lake Placid rd-2102 Lake Placid). The Southside Lodge is Whistler’s original ski bum hotel. Whistler Creek or Creekside, as the locals call it, is Whistler’s original Village. The Creekside is home to old ski cabins, new mansions and a few small hotels. An eclectic mix of long time local families, temporary workers, and old school Vancouver 2nd homeowners make the Creek a great place to live. The Creek is chill (pretty laid back) and has a totally different vibe than the big hotels and fancy restaurants in the Main Village (4Km up the hwy). Compared to the Main Village, Whistler Creek is like travelling back in time to Whistler’s roots. The Southside Lodge is steps from everything the Creek has to offer. Everything you need is a walk of 5 minutes or less. Whistler Creek Village, The Whistler Creek Gondola, Grocery, Liquor store, Restaurants, Pubs, Subway, Tim Horton’s, Ski & Bike Shops, Alpha Lake park, Nita Lake and a Bus stop to the Village and Vancouver. The Creek is one of only a few neighborhoods where you do not need a car. If you need to go to the Village, the bus stop is about 100m away. Buses to the Village leave every 15min and it takes about 10min to get there. You can also walk to the Village on the picturesque Valley Trail in 45 minutes to an hour.
