Saraya Goa Saraya is an open space where people can come together to create, share and experience art, food and living in rhythm with nature.
(243)

Saraya; a Sanskrit word meaning, "to begin, to flow". A space culturing the infinity of creativity. Our vision is to bring together art culture, food and eco living. Saraya is where these three elements come together. A confluence of artistic minds and energies which inspire you to begin your creative journey. Art Space
A restored, three hundred year old Portuguese house, in the quaint village of

Sangolda where artists, sculptors, writers, musicians and theater groups come together to share their love for the world of creativity. Besides displaying work, a series of workshops will be held to inspire individuals and offer them a chance to explore the artist within. Art Café
With an emphasis on fresh natural food, the vision behind the café is to create an environment for people to get together and exchange ideas over a cup of coffee and a hearty home cooked meal. In addition to other local sources, we have started a small farm, where we hope to source fresh produce for the garden café. The aim of serving fresh food is to make people aware of the journey of one’s food and to bridge the gap between the farm and the table. Mud houses and Tree houses
Influenced by the natural landscape and materials available, the designs for the mud houses and tree houses were improvised as the space was created. To keep the already existing environment intact, we built rooms working around the trees and incorporated the greenery into the structures. Most materials used to build the space are natural; such as mud, clay, bamboo and leaves; all of which have been sourced locally from the land. The workforce, from different parts of the country were involved in making the houses as they had much knowledge about traditional building methods and sustainable practices in rural India.

It’s been two years since the self-proclaimed “first car-free neighborhood in America” opened. With the first phase finished last year, the high-profile development continues to unfold on a 17-acre site along a light rail line in an already established neighborhood. The $200 million project now includes 288 apartment units with about 300 tenants, reeling residents in with appeals for a healthier, more eco-friendly lifestyle, built-in community with ample amenities, and accessible transit. Along with the hype, the ambitious experiment has aroused skepticism. But these critics don’t live there. Those with more proximity see the place as a big plus.
