🌟 Spotlight on our stars! Let’s dive into the stories of our club members. Today, meet Özgür Beşbudak!
Özgür embraced Berlin life two years ago, and it was our club that caught his eye while exploring the local chess scene. With a passionate FIDE rating of 1889, he's become an integral part of our community, playing guitar, biking around the city, and making lifelong friends at our club. 🚴♂️♟️
Why chess? Özgür shared, "It was my father who introduced me to chess at the age of 7-8, and I've loved it ever since." His aspirations are high, aiming to cross a 2000 ELO and compete in the A category at the Grenke Tournament, with dreams of becoming an FM.
Özgür's favorite part about our club? "The space is just amazing—spacious, stylish, and welcoming. Beautiful pieces, a great atmosphere, and friendly faces make every visit memorable." 🏰
His best chess moments came from playing against higher-rated players at the Grenke Tournament, where he showcased his growing skills. "I started to take chess path seriously, thats why I often join the tournaments. A lot of things that makes this place special for me. This club is about friendship, and shared passion," says Özgür.
