BARR X BLÆS

Some things are worth making by hand.

Spending an afternoon in the studio with Sally and Jette at Blæs Glass Studio , watching the Barr water glasses come to life.

From a glowing furnace of molten glass, each piece is gathered, blown, shaped, balanced and finished entirely by hand. A process built on patience, precision and teamwork — qualities we admire deeply in both craftsmanship and hospitality.

Every glass carries a small Barr × Blæs signature on its base, marking a collaboration between two Copenhagen workshops dedicated to making things with care.

We’re proud that these glasses will soon find their place on our tables at Strandgade, becoming part of the everyday experience of sharing a meal at Barr.

Out with the old, making space for the new.

This Friday afternoon, we’ll be in front of the restaurant for a small flea market outside Barr — a chance to take home a little piece of the restaurant’s previous chapter before we fully step into the next one.

Over the years, these objects have lived through countless services & long evenings. Now it’s time for some of them to find a new home.

Expect water carafes, glassware, lots of plates & ceramics, HAY cushions, outdoor furniture, lava stones, a spirits trolley, and a few other surprises along the way.

As the final guests leave the table and the last glasses are cleared, we just want to say thank you.

To everyone who joined us over these past months of Barr at Noma - guests, suppliers, friends, and our incredible team - thank you for being part of this chapter. And to noma, for opening the doors and allowing us to call this beautiful space home for a little while.

So many memories were made around this long table. Shared meals, celebrations, late nights, new faces, familiar faces, and moments we’ll carry with us for a long time.

Now it’s time to pack down, clean up, hand the space back over, and begin the move home to Strandgade.

We’ve loved every minute of this residency.
See you soon, back where it all began. 🤍

During our Noma residency, we’re serving a beautiful filter coffee from La Perla del Otún by Luis Alberto Jojoa. Think floral, juicy, and softly peach-like, with the kind of sweetness that lingers long after the last sip.
