Weekly blog posted Sunday 12th July

Another warm week wasn't it? Brilliant...exactly what we want...that horrible extended winter is a distant memory now. We managed to stay cool in the shop and kept everyone hydrated with lovely iced teas and iced coffees.

We are looking forward to a busy week ahead with plenty of Afternoon Teas planned and as always at this time of year, very busy breakfast sessions so do give us a call and reserve a table if you are planning to visit early. Lots of people like to breakfast with us before boat trips, beach or pool days or hikes and remember we are open and ready to serve you at 8am which suits a lot of you.

As we need to go to the UK again later this week we are changing our opening schedule again. This is the third time in 6 weeks that we have had to nip back to the UK. We apologise in advance but unfortunately this time it is to attend a family funeral.
So....
Monday to Thursday this week as normal 8am till 3pm.

Friday, normally closed but will be open 8am till 3pm.

Saturday 18th to Thursday 23rd July, Closed.

Friday 24th July we will be open 8am till 3pm
Then we return to our regular schedule...hopefully for the foreseeable future!

Who knows, we might even be able to get back to planning gin tasting again!

In the meantime it's cakes, scones, savouries, lovely homemade fillings for our sandwiches, pitta pockets, wraps, salads and jacket potatoes...all our regular products that you love and don't forget all available for take away and pack ups.

We look forward to seeing you if you are in the area this week and once again apologies for closing yet again next week.

All the very best to you all from Jim and Lindsay 🎀

What a warm week that was...and still is, also looking likely to continue, Summer is definitely with us now. Thank goodness it's fairly cool within The Tea House. It's always comes as a bit of a shock when we step out sometime around 3.30- 4pm and it's absolutely roasting.

Talking of roasting, I will be starting our oven early tomorrow to roast chicken breasts and a gammon joint. Sliced roast chicken with sage and onion stuffing has become one of your favourite sandwich fillings so we need to be ready.

Afternoon tea is always a nice thing to do. Whilst you are on holiday why not treat yourself and get a little break from the heat and sun at the same time. Our version is delicious and excellent value for money too. Our gluten free option is offered at exactly the same price as a regular tea.
Book your table on 661 468 375.

This weeks special cake will be raspberry red velvet. It's been too long since we had one and I have many requests to make it so watch this space! Don't miss out on sausage rolls on Wednesday and Tuesday we will have savoury cheese and onion pasties as our special.

Do call in for takeaway sandwiches and cakes if you are out and about in the village or join us for breakfast perhaps. We are open every day except Friday, nice and early at 8am.

If you are here on holiday please take care in the sun, stay hydrated and have a fabulous time. It's great to see you!

All the very best to our Facebook friends from Jim and Lindsay 🎀

Weekly blog posted Sunday 28th June

Just a short recap this week as we have been closed for pretty much all of the week. I had to dash to the UK at short notice and we only reopened on Friday!

And wow...its so quiet!! Not just in our shop, its seems to be everywhere! Jim and I went out for dinner on Wednesday evening when I got back and we were literally the only 2 in the restaurant. We do expect this at this time of the year. However, Scotland and Ireland schools have broken up for summer already and even today we noticed more families returning. So do remember, for us at least, book your tables if you are a larger group and we look forward to seeing you.

We are open as usual again now and with all our regular favourites. Something new tomorrow, an orange and fresh blackberry cake...looking forward to that....another Facebook recipie which popped up on my feed whilst I was away.

Don't forget sausage rolls day on Wednesday....always popular and still only 2€ each. Scrumptious!

Afternoon teas available all week if you are looking to celebrate something or someone. A treat for yourselves if you just fancy a nice change.

Have a fabulous week everyone
All the best from Jim and Lindsay 🎀

Weekly blog posted Sunday 14th June

We had a week off for our summer break so I took a break from the blog last Sunday too...in case you missed me...probably not!🤣

So this has been a short week although we did open on Friday as an extra which made sense as our first day back was Thursday so it seemed a bit wrong to open one day then take a day off. Back to normal now and we will be closed next Friday for our day off.

My birthday was on Wednesday and so on Friday evening we had a special celebration dinner at El Meson restaurant in Puerto Santiago and very enjoyable it was too.

This week in the shop we are looking forward to more birthday celebrations as people are booked in for our gorgeous Afternoon Tea, now that is a nice treat!.

I was exceptionaly busy on our return as there was
lots of cake and scone baking to he done as well as roasting gammon and chicken etc etc. I also needed to make the pitta pockets. Now let me just remind you how good these are. And by the way, every time I make them they get better and better! They are a lovely alternative to sliced bread and can be taken with any of our sandwich fillings. Jacket potato or a full fresh salad are also alternative options you can choose.

Thank you for you comments and kind reviews as always we are very happy to read those. Thanks also for all the cards, messages and happy birthday wishes you have sent to me thus week....I am still getting them four days on!

We were delighted to receive these photos of Jim with his new BFF Dexter sent to us by his Mum Elli@e. This lovely little family came to us several times before we were away and we had such fun. Its so nice at this quiet time of the year to really have more opportunities to speak to and engage with customers. This is the time when we really do get to know people, and we love that.

Good news for Gin tasters...we have an event running this coming Saturday, 20th June. This is the first one for weeks and we are really looking forward to it. If you would like to join us for the event then see all the details on the poster attached and book in as soon as possible. Places are limited.

If you are in Los Gigantes village this week, and why wouldn't you be as Oasis has reopened at last!! Yay!!do pop in and see us. We are open from 8am every day except Friday for delicious breakfasts...sets you up for the day.

Have a fabulous week everyone.

Weekly blog posted Sunday 31st May

Another month over with...happy 1st of the month tomorrow. June....my birthday month...yay!

The weather has been fabulous all week...at last! And long may it continue. I understand the UK have had great weather too, well hold onto your brollies...we are flying over for our holiday on Thursday and of course the forecast is rain every single day😅🤣. Oh well! We don't go for the weather do we...we are looking forward to seeing friends and family, catching up and recharging our batteries.

So our last day this week will be Wednesday (sausage rolls day) and then we will reopen on Thursday 11th June. We will be open on the Friday (12th) too and ....drumroll...we have a gin tasting event scheduled for Saturday 13th June!! The first for weeks. We have some confirmed bookings but we need more participants for it to run so if you are interested let me know as soon as possible and we can get you booked on.

We are enjoying interesting both sweet and savoury try outs and old favourites now, as it's a wee bit quieter. But all your favourite regular items are still available of course. Tomorrow morning I am making fruit and plain scones as usual and more pitta breads which are absolutely lovely and an increasingly popular alternative to bread. We live them ourselves and I will certainly be making our packups for the plane with these for Thursday. BLT is particularly good on the pittas.

Thank you for your support, feedback and reviews this week. It's been our pleasure as always but your comments are always appreciated.

We do hope you can join us over the coming three days if you are in the area. It would be lovely to catch people before our break.

Do order your packups for the airport...you won't regret it! Our order is in already!

All the best folks, have a fabulous week.
