Meet Rubén Cuesta, Manager of Vista Lago.

Although I’ve worked in different sectors throughout my career, hospitality is where I truly feel at home. For me, being a restaurateur isn’t about serving plates—it’s about being a host and making people feel welcome.

That passion started at home, watching my parents bring family and friends together around the table every week. At 16, I had my first summer job in a restaurant, and from that moment I knew this was what I wanted to do.

Since then, I’ve worked in cafés, hotels, beach bars, nightclubs and restaurants. I even moved to the UK at 18, where I started again from scratch as a dishwasher because I didn’t speak English. A year later, I was back in the dining room taking orders. That experience taught me resilience, gave me a new language and opened many doors.

Over the years I’ve discovered both sides of hospitality: the warmth of welcoming guests and the responsibility of running a business. Today, I’m proud to lead Vista Lago, where my goal remains the same: to make every guest feel comfortable, well looked after and eager to come back.

For me, there’s no better reward than seeing familiar faces return because they enjoyed not only our food, but the experience our whole team creates every day.
