ANNOUNCEMENT- Pleased to let you all know we’ve agreed a deal with the legendary Nick at Red Robin Records to sell his records through our record store at 101- 103 Union street, Aberdeen, literally 200 yards from Red Robin’s Cafe. We’ll be setting some of them out tonight. We’ll be adjusting the retail prices to fit in with our great value ethos. Nick’s always been a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to showing these records to you all from this weekend onwards.

Final reel for now; thank you again for the support from everyone over the last 5 years and in particular since the start of 2024. We hope this is just the end of a chapter but only time will tell. Please please support your local businesses so no more have to close.

Thank you to everyone who came to the shop today; who reached out on socials or messaged direct. Everyone’s kind words and well wishes have made things a little easier.

Nick is dreadful at taking a compliment so if you were in the shop today and gave him a heartfelt message to be met with a “cheers” please know he really appreciates everyone’s words but just doesn’t know how to respond.

Expect a few memory spam reels over the next 24 hours and please if you are in town tomorrow pop in for our final day. Lots of bargains to be had in store.

We have taken the decision to close the cafe at the end of the month. Its heartbreaking, but it’s the right thing to do. The sales from Record Store Day is the only reason I can pay the bills this month, the cafe itself has been so quiet and I can’t risk another month with the fear of not being able to pay staff.

I want to thank everyone who has either been a customer or donator to our fund, all the staff and just say how much joy serving and working with you all has brought me.

Please keep supporting the remaining independents left in the city centre, they need you more than you know.

We will be open Monday and Tuesday 10am till 4pm as usual and then close for good.

If you have the time to spare pop in for a bargain.

At the start of 2024 we didn’t think we would reach this milestone but here we are and thrilled that we have reached it. Officially half a decade since Red Robin Records Vinyl cafe first opened.

It’s been quite the journey (to say the least) but we are so happy to still be open. A huge shout out to our brilliant staff who we couldn’t do this without, especially Nick’s mum Carol who our regulars will know well.

Finally thank you to all our customers old and new who have supported us, given us ideas to progress the business and return regularly to enjoy our coffee. We appreciate all of you.

We will continue to take things month to month but fingers crossed the business continues to grow and we are still here in another 5 years.
