⚠️🚨❗️ EXCITING NEWS❗️🚨⚠️

We’re thrilled to share that Hartside Cafe is finally being rebuilt!

After a longer journey than we anticipated, we’re ready to break ground this year and look forward to welcoming you back in due course.

We know how much you all cherish the quirky charm of our pot-holed car park, and we’re reluctant to say goodbye to it too! To help fund the rebuilding of the car park, we’re considering launching a GoFundMe campaign. Ideas include a “Sponsor a Brick” for £10, or for more generous contributions, a personalised plaque featuring your name, or your business, or even your car or bike group.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey – we can’t wait to restore Hartside Cafe as a vibrant community hub once again.

Please like and share this post to help spread the word: Hartside Cafe is coming back!

With gratitude,
The Hartside Cafe Team

As a custodian of Hartside I can only apologise for not being able to rebuild the cafe. Here’s why.
Covid. Bank pulled the funding.
My brain damaged son became very ill. Took 18 mths to look after him.
Sold Hartside to a local business man. That fell through due to his circumstances.
Westmorland and Furness council wanted to ban all car and bike meets at Hartside. I won that one.
Needed a valuation report for the bank.
Been told that I am the only human on the entire planet that owns 15 acres of land, with full planning to rebuild Hartside cafe, it’s worth Zero!
Been threatened with legal action IF I tell social media.
Sorry guys I can’t take anymore. I genuinely love Hartside but I’m broken. X

Hartside Cafe

Hartside Cafe was gutted by a blaze in March 2018, following which the owners decided to retire. Penrith based Dawn Dixon bought the site a year later, seeing it very much as an incredible opportunity for a fresh start for this iconic location where cyclists & motorcyclists regularly stop off on the high-rise & winding road between Penrith & Alston
