David Jones-Winkley First of all, Thank You very much for acknowledging expensive gifts during Christmas time that proves our appreciation to the staff and during the previous Christmas time as well, next, no family were invited, it was just current staff. You have mentioned other staff and didn't get expensive gifts. Please let me clear this, SHE WAS EMPLOYED PART TIME TO DO THE WORK IN THE RESTAURANT, we didn't require her family advice to run our business or who we invite or who to give expensive gifts. About her time off request, she was given, so I don't know why you making fuss about it. Regarding Sunday shift , no she was not the first one and won't be the last one.
You have mentioned, she worked without break, that's not true. She had toilet breaks, drinks and light food breaks and never charged during the work hours as we allowed our staff to drinks and light foods. Also, All staff are allowed to take food home at the end of the night, free of charge and despite she doesn't eat the foods, she was taking for the family, we allowed that too.
Regarding your mentioned, she is working without breaks, just to let you know, this is from GOV.UK, "Young Workers under 18 are entitled to 30 minutes rest break if they work more than 4.5 Hours". She was working 3/4 hours shift.
You have made an accusation about we keep 50% tips, some waiters / waitress have the ideology that tips are shared between them only. However, we have a FAIR POLICY. THE TIPS ARE SHARED AMONG ALL STAFF INCLUDING KITCHEN STAFF AND ALL OF THE PEOPLE WORKING IN THE RESTAURANT, ACCOUNTING THE WHOLE WEEK. Because the whole staff work hard all week and do preparation for the busy weekends so the weekend tips ARE NOT FOR WEEKEND STAFF ONLY, it is distributed FAIRLY TO THE WHOLE STAFF ON BASIS ON HOW MANY NIGHTS THEY WORK.
You have THREATENED us about Child Labour, 14 years old working in the kitchen, your other daughter come along with her mother for that job and received money for it so you should be charged for making 14 years old child to work in the kitchen but let me put you out of the misery, 14 years old CAN WORK as a dishwasher and that BY LAW.
I don't know why you are talking about her 18th birthday, she told in advanced, SHE CAN'T WORK TWO NIGHTS ANYMORE, MAYBE ONE NIGHT ONLY AND NOT GUARANTEED EVERY WEEK, so she was told we have to think about it and make a decision about it because we require staff on our busy nights and that's that.
By the way, she arrived in the restaurant on 11/4/2026 with her friend BIT TIPSY, NAGGING EVERY ONE FOR FREE DRINKS AND FREE FOODS AND WAS ENTERING THE BAR AREA WHERE ONLY STAFF IS ALLOWED. SHE ALSO WENT TO THE HOT FOOD CUPBOARD WHERE THE POPADOMS ARE STORED AND HELPED HERSELF WITH HER FRIEND WITHOUT ASKING, TAKING POPADOMS WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT. Despite that, we were nice to her.
You have raised a question "did something happen in the car New Years Eve " like to know ask you what do you mean by that? Because there were other staff members and a family member in the car at the same time and she was dropped first so we have witness available. I take this matter VERY SERIOUSLY.
If you were decent and sensible individual, you could have talk to us in person but you have decided to take this route to DAMAGE OUR REPUTATION, your aim is to SABOTAGE OUR BUSINESS. I may contact my legal team.
