Anstruther Golf Club

Anstruther Golf Club Anstruther Golf Club was founded in 1890 and has seen many changes over the years.

The initial layout comprised 7 holes with trenches through the middle of the course and poles scattered over the greens to stop gliders landing during the war. In more peaceful times the course was extended to an excellent 9 holes which is kept in superb condition throughout the year. The course is located 9 miles south of St Andrews and stretches along the shoreline between Anstruther and Pittenw

eem. The spectacular views over Anstruther Harbour and out to the Isle of May, Bass rock and south west to Edinburgh are a constant distraction. Golfers should beware of Anstruther Golf Club’s version of Amen corner which comprises a series of 3 challenging par 3’s starting with The Rockies (5th) voted the toughest par 3 in the UK!

‼️ Breaking Junior News ‼️

Today we had 8 Anster Juniors who had qualified for the Faldo Series Futures Regional Final playing over at Crieff.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that 3 of them have earned a place in the U.K. final at The Belfry in August which will be hosted by Sir Nick Faldo 😲

Erin won the Girls 9-10 age group
Paige was runner up in the Girls 7-8 age group
Jack won the Boys 7-8 age group.

Well done 👏🏻👏🏻 we are all proud of you!

Our Gents Open on Saturday 11th July is almost fully booked, we only have 3 spaces remaining at 3pm.

Should they be filled in the next day or two we will can add 2 more times at 320 and 340pm.

Sunday 21st June saw us welcome Crail Ladies and Elie & Earlsferry Ladies to the club for the annual Phyllis Dyer trophy.

This trophy has been played for over 40 years in memory of Phyllis Dyer who was a member of all 3 clubs.

The weather was perfect for golf and a close match ensued, this was followed by a fantastic meal from Rockies Restaurant.

Anstruther Ladies retained the trophy with a strong showing on course.

AGC Ladies 128 points
Crail Ladies 115 points
E&E Ladies 105 points.
