There’s a special meaning behind the clock in my coffee shop.
Six weeks ago, I lost my dad. Since then, this beautiful clock from his home has found its place here, where he spent so much of his time.
Dad would often come to the shop, sit in his chair with a coffee, and we'd spend hours chatting over lunch. Some of my favourite memories are the simplest ones ,putting the world to rights over a cup of coffee, a sandwich, and good conversation.
He wasn't just part of my days, he became part of the shop. So many of our customers knew him because he loved nothing more than having a chat. Whether he was sitting in his chair inside with a coffee in hand or outside on the chairs at the front, he would always be saying hello, sharing a story, having a laugh, and making people feel welcome. He never met a stranger ,just friends he hadn't spoken to yet.
Now, every time I look up and see that clock, it feels like a little piece of him is still here with me. And if you look closely, you'll see his favourite tea sitting right beside it Yorkshire Tea.
The shop feels different without him, but these little reminders bring me comfort. They remind me of his kindness, his laughter, his stories, and the countless ordinary moments that turned out to be the most precious of all.
I know many of you will remember him and the conversations you shared. Thank you for stopping to chat with him over the years,it meant more to him than you'll ever know.
This clock will keep ticking, just as his memories will live on in my shop and in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Miss you every day Dad. 🕰️☕❤️
