Bike Beans Cycle Cafe

Bike Beans Cycle Cafe This is a concept I have been looking to deliver for sometime and is fuelled by my passion for biking, food, drink & hospitality!

The aim is to support and encourage the cycling community whoever you are !If you just want a cracking cuppa,no bike required! Bike Beans is a cycle cafe that will offer seating for approx 45 people inside & outside offering cracking expresso or filter coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cold drinks, hot homemade food inc soups, pastas, jacket potatoes, sandwiches. We will also have a range of energy bars, gels a

nd drinks along with a small range of cycle accessories. An excellent & convenient cycle service & repair offering will also be available from the cafe, carried out by an excellent Cytech qualified mechanic. There will be a secure bike parking area (if you bring your own lock!). Wifi will be available to customers along with live cycling (when on) and great music (in my opinion!)

When the sun shines we will have a very sunny decked area for outdoor enjoyment. There is ample parking in the Grove Road public carpark just behind us,which is free on Sunday's and inexpensive the rest of the week and never gets too busy. From the top of the car park there is then a very handy cut through footpath to Rectory Lane, which is about a 2 min walk.

Another rideforewen winner. Well done Andrew!

Andrew was a winner yet again at Highland hardline round 3 over the weekend . The weather looked pretty nasty to say the least . Well done Andrew on taking the category win .

Well, just to let you know I’ve been back in employment partnering with Kevin Yates one of our many talented members. Strange swapping the Lycra for business dress but getting used to it and really enjoying working with another fabulous brand and product . If you are interested in keeping in touch he’s what I’m up to .... otherwise see you on the bike !

Evening all !
PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR CLOCKS FORWARD BEFORE BEDTIME !
The rides will go at 9am ( but will feel like 8am or be 8am if you don’t change your clocks )

For a bit of fun and for my final Cafe ride, I will be organising groups by ability/ speed to do the Ripley Belter circuit ( about 30 miles/ 1.5 to 2 hours). I will take a developer group off first and then the other inter, inter plus, advanced groups will go off at 10 min intervals chasing down the groups in front.
Each group will need a ride captain that knows the route and keeps the group together, so please be prepared to help with this.

Matthew Joy will also be taking a separate ‘ inter plus’ ride , again leaving at 9am as he’s already posted

Look forward to a great last day !
Right where’s my Cycle kit ....😂

Cycling prescribed as one of the best medicines for ‘super ageing ‘ !
One of our members Patrick Cangley featured in today’s Daily Telegraph following his interview in the cafe last week.
A great inspiration and role model to have in the Club....
