When it comes to the summer rituals of Royal Ascot and polo, Berkshire is indelibly part of our psyche. Over the season, people put on their hats and their best, the social calendar gathers pace and life gradually moves outdoors.
Few places capture that feeling better than Coworth Park, where summer is measured in long lunches, cold glasses and polo playing out beyond the terraces.
From 18 June, TIDE returns for another season beside the meadow. Looking out towards the polo fields, it remains one of the county's most enjoyable outdoor lunch spots — relaxed, open-air and, somehow, still a little under the radar.
Another secret is Coworth Park's Rose Lawn Bar. Open now from Friday through Sunday, 12pm to 6pm, and requiring no reservation, it offers one of the simplest pleasures of the Berkshire summer: arriving, finding a seat on the terrace and settling in with something cold while the countryside stretches away in front of you.
Together with The Barn, Michelin-starred Woven by Adam Smith and the wider estate beyond, it is a reminder that Coworth Park is at its most compelling this time of year.
Now all we need is sunshine🌞.
