THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE 👀
After three and a half incredible years, we’re excited to finally share that we’ve officially signed the lease on part of The George.
This is something Laura and I have been working towards for a long time, and honestly, it still feels a little surreal to be holding the keys 😍🔑
Firstly, thank you.
Batch only exists because of the support we’ve received from this town. What started as a small coffee shop has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined. We’ve made lifelong friends, watched customers become regulars, regulars become friends, and somehow built a community around great coffee, cakes and good people 🥹
So what’s actually happening?
We’re not moving the coffee shop, and we’re not taking over the whole building.
What we are doing is creating the space we need to take Batch to the next level.
The new site will give us a much larger production kitchen, allowing us to expand our baking, improve consistency and continue growing everything we already love doing. It’ll also help us continue growing our outside catering, celebration bakes, corporate orders and wedding offerings.
Alongside that, we’ll be creating a small retail space filled with things we genuinely love. Expect speciality coffee, local products, preserves, granolas, sauces and a few other bits we’ve been wanting to bring to Batch for a long time.
One thing we’re particularly excited about is finally having the space to start producing artisan sourdough and other small-batch breads 🥖🍞
There are also a few other ideas we’re keeping under wraps for now. You’ll have to let us keep some surprises back ✨
For those wondering about extra seating, there won’t be an expansion on that front, although we’re hoping to add a couple more outdoor seats if possible.
There’s still plenty of work to do before we’re ready to open the doors, and we don’t have an opening date just yet, but we can’t wait to bring you along for the journey.
