🥳 7 years!! 7 years of Centred Sole Reflexology 06.07.2019 🥳

Almost 8 years ago, I walked into the first day of my reflexology course, and I instantly knew. I knew I’d found my place. I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.

7 years ago today I qualified as a reflexologist. But 16 years ago today I graduated from the exact same building I was studying reflexology, only then I was utterly lost about where I was going. I’d gone to university as instructed by school and gained my degree, but throughout my time in university I knew I wasn’t where I was meant to be.

Maybe those 8 years between graduating and finding my way back to that building in Queen’s University were getting me ready for what was to come.

Another stand-out moment in finding my way to reflexology was whilst working in a school. The teachers were asking for time off to see their children in the school nativity play and, one by one, were being told, “No!” I’d just had Lochlan, and in that very moment I thought to myself, “Nobody will ever tell me no.” So that was the wheels in motion… I needed an out! I enrolled on a reflexology course and, having never—literally ever—touched another person’s feet, I just innately knew this was it!

Seven years on: three kids, a cabin, a growing list of clients, clients who have become friends, working around my kids and a husband working along side me… it’s all just working out lovely!

Seven years ago today, could I have pictured myself where I am now? Yes! Do I know what life will look like 7 years from now? Not entirely. But I know Centred Sole Reflexology will have me exactly where I’m meant to be.

Maybe you’re not sure what you’re meant to be doing, but it’ll all fall into place exactly when it’s meant to.

Lots of love and thank you from the bottom of my heart to every person who visits my little place of calm!

🧠 NEW REFLEXOLOGY RESEARCH 🧠

Scientists used brain scans to see what happens during reflexology.

They found that stimulating different areas of the feet activated different parts of the brain. Several brain regions became active, including areas linked to body awareness and learning.

The study also included stroke survivors. After reflexology, some participants showed improvements in hand sensation and movement.

These findings suggest that reflexology may have an effect on brain activity and could have potential in supporting stroke recovery. More research is ongoing.

Thank you Dr Posse and Barbara and Kevin Kunz!

Exciting times in the reflexology world. 🦶

Ever feel like your brain has about 47 tabs open at once? 🤯

You know the drill…

You’re making a cup of coffee, replying to a message, thinking about what’s for tea, remembering you’ve forgotten to get something out of the freezer, and then standing in the kitchen wondering what on earth you came in there for in the first place! 😂

Life’s busy!!

We’re so used to rushing around and thinking about the next thing on the list that we rarely give ourselves permission to just stop.

That’s one of the reasons I love reflexology so much. For that hour, there’s nowhere you need to be, nothing you need to do, and nobody asking you for anything. It’s just time for you.

And honestly? One of my favourite things is hearing clients say, “I didn’t realise how much I needed that.”

Sometimes the best thing you can do is press pause for a little while. 👣💕

So tell me… when was the last time you properly switched off and did absolutely nothing for an hour? 😊

Then message me for an appointment 😜

I’m all about making your experience in the cabin an absolutely delightful one. And I know you’re all thinking, ‘Lauren, it couldn’t be any more delightful.’ Well you’re a wee but wrong, because I’ve got a new trick up my sleeve! Hot (and cold) stone reflexology therapy!

What’s that you ask…stone therapy is an ancient healing practice that combines the soothing warmth of heated basalt stones with the principles of reflexology to restore balance in the body.

Rooted in traditions from Native American, Chinese, Hawaiian, and Ayurvedic healing, the therapy works by applying warm stones to pressure points on the feet and hands that correspond to different organs and systems throughout the body.

The gentle heat helps relax muscles, improve circulation, reduce tension, and encourage deep relaxation while allowing reflexology techniques to work more effectively.

So there you have it, coming to the cabin as soon as the stones have arrived!!

Who shall be first in line to try it out??

It’s been a while from I posted, but I really have to be drawn to a topic and speak from the heart; so here’s my latest ponderings as a reflexologist.

Let’s talk reflexology and the para sympathetic nervous system. Because above all else, this is the key to success, not only in reflexology, but in life!!

Let’s put the picture into perspective. That’s me parachuting…thanks to AI 😝 As we all now live high stressed, busy, demanding lives we live in a constant state called STRESS. Very very bad for long term health. Very very good for running away from a lion.

Let’s picture ourselves jumping out of the plane…the rush, the adrenaline, the pure fear…falling, falling, falling…fast!! Then out comes the parachute…things begin to calm, we see the beauty, the joy, we begin to enjoy the experience. This is what reflexology does, it’s activates the parachute…hence the name ‘para’sympathetic nervous system; para meaning ‘to protect against’. It’s our own built in protection against acute stress. But in 2026 we don’t experience ‘acute’ stress, we experience ‘chronic’ stress. So we need to do as much as we can to leave the stress behind and live in this state of calm and peace.

So if you like the idea of me activating your parachute and helping you land safely then I’m your girl!!

Lots of love,
Lauren xx

Thank you for such a beautiful shout out!

It’s clients spreading my name that means the most! Almost all of my business is word of mouth and this is the best feeling ever. When someone comes along for the first time and says, ‘so many people have told me I need to come here, so here I am’, it’s thee best feeling ever!

So thank you to every person that’s ever uttered my name to a friend, loved one, stranger in a waiting room…anyone at all!! Lauren xx
