It’s going to be another hot one tomorrow, however the tea room is quite cool. Please come along and support us this week, the community bus will be running so feel free to use this service.
If you fancy popping along after the end of term family picnic at school you will be more than welcome and you will be able to choose from one of these delicious bakes…

It was an absolute pleasure to meet some of the team from Sophie’s Legacy including Sophie’s Grandma, and learn a bit more about Sophie and what an inspirational child she was 💛
It really did reinforce why we chose to support this charity and the local children it wil benefit.

Please come along and support us this week, the community bus will be running (please let us know if you need more details).

Cocktails & Canapes 2026 was an extremely well supported event and raised over £3,600.
After much consideration by the team we decided there is not an obvious local project that we feel will benefit from such a large donation so we decided to spread it out across a number of smaller worthwhile causes.

We are very pleased to share with you that we have recently made a donation to a local youngster named Benji who is following his Olympic dream.
He competes in Mens Artistic elite and trains at Basingstoke Active Life Centre for 25 hours a week, he competes in Pommel, High Bar, Parallel Bar, Vault, Floor and Rings. I compete all over the country both for the south Region Team and for the club.
We received this message and video footage from Benji, we are sure you will all agree he is talented and we wish him all the luck following his dream 🤸🏼

I want to thank everyone for their help and support over the last 6 months while I have been raising money for an International training Camp in Portugal which we are going to in August – I have been washing cars (with my Dad !) every weekend in Old Basing and Lychpit and have met some really amazing and generous people along the way, including Sue and all the members of the IVY Club

I specifically want to thank the Village Vibes Café who have recently made a really generous donation to me which means I have now hit my target and can also afford to buy some new kit which I need as well.

We would like to show our baking team some love and appreciation with a big shout out 😍 some of them are firmly behind the scenes so are not present to enjoy the village vibe in person and receive thanks from our valued customers, their ages range from 16 to 80 so you are never too young or old to join our team and help create a ‘sweet bite of community spirit’ 😍

A big thank you to everyone who visited us last Friday to enjoy our summer Pimms cafe🍹 🍰

Our Community Bus initiative is proving to be extremely popular, helping residents who might otherwise be unable to visit us enjoy our fantastic bakes and benefit from ‘a sweet bite of community spirit’
It is wonderful to see the positive difference this transport provision is making to some people.

We are committed to reinvesting the funds we raise for the direct benefit of the residents of Old Basing and Lychpit. If you have a project, idea, or community initiative that will make a positive difference and you think we could help support this, please get in touch.

A reminder that the cafe will be closed this Friday to allow set up for the village Carnival, we will be back on Friday 26th June
