Happy Saturday one and all.. we have made the decision not to open for the 1am England game on Monday. As we are cosy little pub smack dab in the middle of lots of chimney pots we feel it would be unfair to subject our neighbours to a whole lot of late night noise, especially on a school night!
We’ll be watching, and cheering on our team, and we will most definitely showing their next match (🤞) on Saturday 11th July.

Happy hump day! And another day dawns and another England game is in the offing..
We will be opening at 4pm and the lovely Simon’s from Crown and Heel will be here to greet you with their sunny smiles and yummy burgers!
I’m afraid all inside tables are booked, so it’s standing room only, but it will also be shown in the garden.
Burgers, beer and footie…. Must be summer!

The pub is painted.. woohooo!!! And it looks jolly splendid.. now on to prettifying (my favourite job) and as we are certainly not green fingered we are so lucky to have two fantastic local businesses at hand to help us out!

First up Max The Foxglove gardener has tidied, trimmed and generally given the garden an overhaul which has given us so much more light!
Next up we have Hannah and Zannah from Rosehip bespoke floristry here, who will be adding some beautiful flowers and plants to our garden pots and window boxes.

So come along over the next week or two and soak up the sun with a refreshing beverage in a veritable paradise of greenery. Hurrah! 🌹💐🌺🌷🥀

Happy sunny Sunday one and all. Just a little note to all you lovely quizzers out there.. this months quiz will take place on Monday 13th July. We apologise for any inconvenience, but as it’s the Summer there are staff holidays to consider and of course a certain football tournament that is on at the moment 😉.

Back from a lovely restful holiday in sunny Croatia, a big thanks to our fantastic staff for manning the ship whilst we were gone.
Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to tackle the summer!

Work on the outside of the pub has taken a little longer than expected due to an excess of that pesky wet stuff falling from the sky.., but the scaffolding is coming down today, so on to prettifying and buffing up to make it look totally fabulous dahling.. all ready for the sunny weather to come! 🤞

Where did that go!!! TEN YEARS…TEN since we quit our jobs took a leap of faith and moved in to The Devonshire Arms and what a ride it’s been!
Beer festivals, bands, Burns night, Remembrance lunches, Ghost stories, Christmas carols.. the list goes on and will continue to go on, and on and on…..

We feel very lucky to have landed such a special little pub, but what really makes it is the people. Thanks to all you wonderful lot who have supported us over the last 10 years, and a special shout out for our hard working, supportive thoroughly fabulous staff. We’ve cherished every single one of you over the last 10 years..
