Sunday was everything Mum would have wanted. ❤️

The terrace was full of family, friends, laughter, stories, music, food and plenty of sangria.

It was a beautiful day, and one we’ll never forget.

Standing there, looking around, we realised something.

Mum always said 2Taps was never just about serving food or drinks.

It was about bringing people together.

Creating a place where people felt welcome.

A place where birthdays were celebrated, friendships were made, families gathered and stories were shared around the table.

Looking around on Sunday, we realised she’d achieved exactly that.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate her life, sent a message, shared a memory or simply stood beside us.

The love and support has meant more than we can ever put into words.

We’ll do our very best to keep building the place she believed in.

A place where people always feel welcome.

Always be kind. ❤️

The Woman Behind 2Taps ❤️

Every restaurant has a story.

Ours begins with a woman called Brenda.

Our wee mummy.

Back in 2005, alongside her partner Syd, she took a chance on a dream. After falling in love with Spain, its people, its food and its way of bringing people together, they wanted to bring a little piece of that to Belfast.

That dream became 2Taps.

But Mum gave us so much more than a restaurant.

She taught us what hospitality really means.

Work hard. Stay humble. Be kind. Look after your people. Never think any job is beneath you.

She lived those values every single day.

Long before 2Taps, Mum had already shown us what resilience looked like. She raised three children on her own, built businesses, created opportunities and somehow always found more love to give. She was one of the hardest grafters we’ve ever known, but what made her truly special wasn’t how hard she worked - it was how deeply she cared.

She could talk to anyone. She made people feel seen. Food was never just food to Mum. It was how she showed love.

Everything you see in 2Taps today carries a little piece of her.

The flowers.

The music.

The warmth.

The welcome.

On Tuesday night, Mum passed away peacefully.

Our hearts are broken, but we’re grateful she’s finally at peace.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our family this past week. Every message, hug and kind word has meant more than you’ll ever know.

If Brenda ever made you smile, shared a story, cooked you a meal or made your day a little brighter, we’d love you to share a memory below. We’d love to read them all.

The last words Mum left us with were:

“All three of you were the best thing that ever happened to me in my whole life.”

We’ll carry those words with us forever.

Sleep easy now, Mumma B.

Thank you for every sacrifice, every lesson and every chance you gave us.

Your love built this place.

Your kindness shaped who we are.

We’ll take it from here.
