🌞😎👨🏻‍🍳What's on the menu at Le Petit Monde at the moment? 🦞🦪🦐🐟

Summer is shellfish season, and it's our favourite time of year.

Our Fruit de Mer is a true French seafood platter, changing with the best of what's available. You might find langoustines, prawns, sweet Cornish spider crab and Jersey oysters (our current favourite!) The best of the season's catch 🧡🌊

This weekend we're especially lucky to have Clovelly lobster, caught by one of our lovely regular customers. 🦞🛥

Alongside that, we're serving our signature extra-large gambas, or if seafood isn't your thing, this week's meat special is a beautifully prepared steak tartare.

Summer doesn't last forever and neither does shellfish season. We'd love to welcome you while it's at its best. 🌞

🍽️ We're Hiring – Kitchen Porter (KP)

We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our small, family-run team.

You'll work closely with the chef, helping to keep the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly. Duties include:
• Washing up
• Keeping the kitchen clean
• Helping with starter and dessert plating
• General kitchen assistance as directed

We're looking for someone who is reliable, clean and organised, happy to follow instructions, enjoys working as part of a close-knit team, and has an interest in good food. 👨‍🍳

Whether you're 16 and looking for your first job, have years of experience, or you're a university student home for the summer, we'd love to hear from you. A great attitude is the most important thing.

📅 Friday and Saturday evening availability is essential, with additional weekday evening shifts available throughout the summer.

We're happy to consider both temporary summer applicants and those looking for a permanent, year-round position.

A sneak peek into our prep for tonight’s service at Le Petit Monde 👨🏻‍🍳 🍽

Three starters, centred around good local produce and careful preparation:

Braised Octopus, just out of the oven, meltingly tender and full of depth 🐙

Cornish Spider Crab Claws, cooked in white wine, super sweet, seasonal and ready to be cracked for you tonight 🦀

Our much loved Gambas, carefully prepared and finished with a pepper marinade 🌶️

Alongside these, a special off menu starter this evening, Steak Tartar, for those who enjoy something a little more meaty
