The Thatched Inn

The Thatched Inn The Thatched Inn is a traditional historic pub situated just outside of Bideford in the small village of Abbotsham.

As its name suggest the 15th century stone building has a thatched roof and was originally 3 stone cottages before being converted into a public house. The interior of this ancient inn is equally charming and full of character as many of the buildings original features remain. In the recently refurbished Bar and Restaurants gleaming brassware hangs from the walls and exposed beams to further compl

iment the atmosphere. Not surprisingly, a place this old, steeped in history also has a resident ghost; a former customer who use to meet his loved one at The Thatched Inn! The Thatched Inn has a well deserved reputation for excellent home cooked food at reasonable prices.

We'll have the match showing on the screen in the lower garden, plus screens in the Coach House and the bar, so there's plenty of room for everyone.

The last two England games have been an absolute vibe — even if our landlord looks like a man who accidentally wandered into football and still isn’t sure why he’s there.

But vibes aside… Wednesday is ON.
We’re showing the match across 4 screens, bar open from 11am, and yes — we’ll be serving pints strong enough to make you believe Tuchel has a plan.

So the real question is…
Are we bringing it home, or are we bringing emotional damage?
Either way, we’ll be here, shouting at the TV like Premier League managers… just without the salary.
