I did this cute little buffet today for 6 people. Unfortunately, it will be the last catering I do for under 10 people.
I've been advised to just say 'it's not feesable for the business' but I'd like to be clearer as to why.
The cost of food for such a small number is higher than the payment from the customer. This doesn't include my time shopping, fuel, packaging and the 1.5 hours wage it took to make.
-Buffets/grazes/afternoon teas will now only be available for over 10 people.
-Grazes and afternoon teas will still be available from 2 people but will only be for main days such as Mothers day, Father's day, Easter, Halloween etc or when advertised/raffles.
I hope you understand that although I love making platters for all sorts, it is a business and it will only work if I do it right.
