When you turn your back for 5 seconds and this happens!!!! I didn't lose my temper, I didn't cry....🙈 i took a deep breath and there is no evidence of such thing now. The smell is out of this world!!!!

And then the Pastrami Burger...this is a knife and fork job! And it's worth every single bit of mess it creates whilst eating it. Chips and gravy is another matter...and its delicious!

Baked first thing this morning! As much as I love baking, currently i am doing it under much protest.

Managed to get these done for the week, however the Brazillian Lemonade did not have much luck. Half of the mix went down the drain until I quickly realised that there was no decanting bowl in the sink!!!!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭 so we have limited stock of the delicious, refreshing beverage until tomorrow.

Courtney is my supervisor for today....no multi tasking allowed and I shall follow my to do list....now...where did I put it? 😂😂😂

Moment of truth!

I have closed the cafe doors and I am hiding inside, on the stairs until my Knight in shining armour comes to rescue me (my husband in his land-rover with a sweat hair band around his head) 😂😂😂! I am not going to look my best (sweaty armpits, sweaty invisible moustache)...the list could go on.

I am sure there are places out there with better facilities than ours (aircon) or not, however it has not been busy today and I didn't see the point of sweating buckets in the hope that some people will brave the terrific sunshine we have, and enjoy a delicious meal cooked by us. In all fairness...I wouldn't probably either.

I will be back tomorrow open as usual....and guys, if anyone will come to see us, we shall be extremely grateful.

Here is a plate of Surf and Turf Benedict....sticky rice, topped with sausage patty, butter garlic prawns, poached egg, covered with hollandaise sauce and drizzled with chilli crisp oil. Available this month!

BEHIND EVERY DOOR, THERE IS A STORY WAITING TO BE TOLD...

When we took over this beauty of a house we have also inherited this collage of doors...we were told not to remove it from the wall as it has been hanging on that wall for decades. We actually LOVE IT...and one wonders if whoever decided to collect all those photographs has visited those places.

I did a little digging with the help of Google Lens and I have learned that some doors are still welcoming people in Italy, some in Greece, Montenegro, Crete, even Croatia!

These timeless doors have witnessed generations of laughter, conversations, celebrations and everyday moments. Makes me wonder how many people have crossed their threshold in search of something special - a warm welcome, good company and a place to belong.

We like to think that our cafe is one of those places...with its wonky door where you have to mind your head or watch your step. Whether you are popping in for a coffee, a slice of cheesecake or a catch-up up with your friends, you are adding your own chapter to our story.

Would love to know more stories about this place of ours....I have one of my own....my husband and I had our 2nd date and many after that , in this charming place...in the conservatory area to be precise .... what is your?

Remember, our Door is CLOSED today ( FRI 26th June )...but tomorrow ( SAT 27th June) shall be open again.

The sunshine is here and temperatures are set to soar! 🌡️

Today was all about chilled cakes, lemonades and iced drinks aswell as toasties!🍋🍰

Please note that we will be CLOSED tomorrow due temperature rising and to look after Luca as he is staying home tomorrow- (authorised absence)as he doesn't cope well when its hot.
