Join the Fresh Start Catering team as a General Assistant and help us provide nutritious school meals in a friendly, supportive environment.

Your role will include:
🥗 Food preparation
🍽 Serving meals
🧼 Cleaning and maintaining high hygiene standards
📦 Stock deliveries and rotation
🤝 Supporting the Head Cook and Assistant Cook with day-to-day kitchen tasks

We're looking for someone who is:
✅ Reliable and hardworking
✅ A great team player
✅ Able to work in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
✅ Friendly and professional with children, staff, and visitors

Previous catering experience is desirable, ideally within a school setting, but full training will be provided. A DBS check and references will be required.

We're looking for an experienced Head Cook to join our friendly team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover), starting September.

📍 Hours: 27.5 hours per week
🕣 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 2:00pm
💷 Pay: Negotiable (hourly rate)

About the role:
You'll lead the daily operation of a school kitchen, preparing and serving high-quality meals, supervising the catering team, maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards, and managing stock and kitchen records.

What we're looking for:
✅ Previous cooking experience in a professional kitchen is essential.
⭐ Experience in school or education catering is desirable but not essential.
