Another weekend of superb entertainment is promised by the Ropemakers in West Street. It all starts on the Friday evening, not with music, but with the weekly Charity Meat Draw at 6:00pm. For just £1 for a ticket you could be in the running for one of the fine prizes. All proceeds go to The Living Tree, Bridport’s very own cancer support group.

Later on, at 8:30pm the local talent that is Under the Hill will perform for your delight. We first saw them at one of our Open Mic Nights and though that we would give them a try! Under the Hill come from a range of musical backgrounds, brought together by their love of performing an eclectic mix of originals and their own interpretations of blues, rock, folk-rock, Americana, even a touch of soul and reggae- no genre lies untouched! Based in Dorchester, Mel & Colin and “the boys” have been playing pubs, festivals and other venues as duos, trios, quartets and quintets since 2022.

Saturday sees the The Transitions play at the earlier time of 7:30pm and not 8;30pm as previously advertised so that those of you who wish to watch a game of footy will be able to. The Transitions are a band created by men old enough to know better but still young enough to care less. We make a bit of dosh mostly having fun covering great songs you had forgotten you liked, and playing them to poor unsuspecting folks in drinking establishments all over sunny Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset. We don't stick to any genres really so we do have a wide and varied arsenal which is perfect for entertaining varied audiences. When we don't have our primitive cave dweller Mr Listy tapping out beats on his ca’jon (a kind of drum), Karlos plays bass guitar and a bass drum whilst Fatt’s plays guitar and tambourine with his foot. As a result Karlos and Fatts will both need hip replacements in a few years time. Come and check us out sometime and witness how a band with no real talent, manages to trick drunk people into thinking we do. Bare in mind in order to do this you will have to stay sober which may not be worth the prize

Sunday sees the cooling influence of andy Andy Grant take over at 4:00pm. Andy Grant Solo shows draw on a wide variety of influences from Blues and Soul to Funky Folk and Rock. Using stompbox, live looping and improvisation to great effect, each performance is fresh, vibey and entertaining.
‘Great songs, soulful vocals and awesome guitar skills!’ Blues Matters
‘Laidback, earthy and grounded, Grant’s soulful acoustic rock arrives fully formed, mature and ready for anyone…….‘ Musician
‘Really excellent music’ Phill Jupitus, BBC TV’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks

The weekend starts here!! We have, as well as the Charity Meat Draw at 6:00pm on Friday, some of the most anticipated new to us bands this weekend.
Circus Of Thieves are a high-energy pop punk and alternative rock covers band from Weymouth, Dorset, ready to transport you on a nostalgic trip through the iconic sounds of the 80s to the 00s. Female-fronted and fiercely dynamic, this band puts the punk into pop and beyond, delivering a lively, unforgettable performance that keeps audiences on their feet.
Known for their electrifying renditions of pop punk classics, Circus of Thieves cover hits from legendary artists like Green Day, Blink-182, Sum 41, Bowling for Soup, and Blondie. But they don’t stop there—they take well-known pop songs and inject them with their own punk-infused energy, reimagining favourites like Kids in America, Hey Mickey, Don’t Look Back in Anger, and 99 Red Balloons.
Expect a set-list packed with crowd-pleasers like American Idiot, All The Small Things, Heart of Glass, I Predict a Riot, and many more. With their vibrant stage presence and infectious energy, Circus of Thieves guarantee a party atmosphere that leaves audiences energised and wanting more!

On Saturday we have one of the finest bands on the south coast, Skabba, so this is a call-out for all Dancing Queens, Honey Honeys, Rudys and Gangsters!
Mamma Mia, get ready for an experience like no other as the unstoppable energy of ska collides with the timeless hits of ABBA.
You’ll be screaming Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! one more song (and trust us they always deliver, no SOS required).
Skinheads and Fernandos alike will be falling Head Over Heels as infectious rhythms, soaring harmonies and irresistible grooves transform pop perfection into full-throttle ska anthems.
And it’s not just the songs, it’s the show…
SKA MEETS ABBA are renowned for their explosive live performances, packed dance floors and crowd-singing moments that turn every gig into a party. They well and truly stole the show at the last Frome 80s Fest, leaving audiences buzzing and begging for more.
So the question is… Voulez-Vous?
The answer is – I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do!
Get ready to skank, sing and smile all night long. It all starts at 8:30pm on Saturday!

Sunday sees two fave musicians in Mutter and Clive take the stage at 4:00pm. Mutter Slater was the front man and flute player for the 70’s cult band Stackridge (produced by George Martin, signed by Elton John): a group that established itself as a firm favourite on countless stages throughout the land and appeared regularly on BBC TV’s The Old Grey Whistle Test and John Peel’s radio programmes.
