Orson and Elise (former chefs at Semolina) are cooking together again at Cafe Rust Hove museum on 15th November. This is a pop up dinner with an Asian influence. Email [email protected] to book.

You will find Orson cooking and baking there weekly (except Tue & Wed) day time. Yummy brunches, cakes and lovely people with the added bonus of interesting displays at the museum.

It really was a pleasure working with Butlers Wine Cellar! Thank you so much for everything, all the supplies, support and tastings. This particular one was so much fun, love that photo! I hope our customers continue to support you directly because your wines are so good and your service don’t get in supermarkets! I wish you all the best and see you soon!

We are very sad to see one of our favourite customers close their doors and move onto other adventures.

We have worked with since they opened in 2014 and all the years have been enjoyable. We got on with Linda and Orson straight away, and have enjoyed working with their various team members over the years.

Semolina always had the feel of an independent, local, family restaurant, and offered a great deal to the community. They have continually championed us and our wines too.

They also introduced us to the wonderful team at Chard Restaurant, with whom we have remained great friends, so we thank you for that.

Linda, Orson and their son Rocco have made a positive move to draw a line under Semolina and begin a new chapter. We wish them every success and thank them so much for their service, support and friendship.

My favourite photo of Orson and our regular customers and friends from their visit last week. We met them thanks to our little restaurant and for that I’m very grateful.
We’ve met lots of lovely people and made many happy memories. Our hearts were touched and we touched many people’s lives through Orson’s cooking and my and all the amazing staff’s service.
We will cherish this forever.

On Monday this week we hosted the last and probably the most important private party. We are very grateful for this amazing family (those who know you know) to celebrate at our restaurant.
The beautiful flowers were kindly delivered to us by - a flower shop at the to make it look a bit more special. 🙏

I would like to add it’s been an incredibly busy week and next week will be too while so many of you are coming to eat at our restaurant for the last time. The emotions are running high. We had some staffing issues and some stock might have been affected by Easter opening times and difficulties with deliveries. So I would like to ask our lovely customers to be just a little bit more patient with us if we don’t get everything right, we are only humans after all. But we are trying really hard to deliver the best service until the very last day.

New easy drinking duo on the wine list from the Languedoc region in France.
The Vermentino is dry and crisp with notes of citrus, ripe peach but pear hits my senses first, it is gently floral and refreshing.
The Carignan is smooth and fruity, it has lovely flavours of berries, cherry, blackberries and vanilla, the tannins are soft. I could drink this one with just about anything.
Both are available by the glass and bottle and supplied to us by the lovely

Hello friends! We have some news to share. Orson and I first opened the doors of our little restaurant in November 2014. It’s been over 8 years of laughter and joy with our colleagues, customers and suppliers. Many times it was hard work, many times it was fun. We loved every moment and are very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of a wonderful community. We opened with a big smile and warm welcome and we shall close the same way. We signed a 9 year lease which expires on the 1st of May. However we will not be renewing that lease. It’s been a difficult decision to make but due to many reasons, family being the number one, we have decided it’s time for a change. The last service for our lovely customers will be on Saturday 22nd April 2023.
From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank everyone who shared these happy moments and was part of our little Semolina family. We appreciate every single one of you!
