Summer holidays just got a whole lot cheaper!

I remember dreading the school holidays when my daughter was younger because they can be so bloody expensive.

But the good news is kids can travel on the buses for free this summer, no matter where you are in the UK.

Hereโ€™s exactly how to make the most of it

If you are in the West of England:

Children under 16 ride completely free starting 18 July until 6 September. This covers the entire summer holiday across the West of England Combined Authority (Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset).

The rest of the UK:

The UK Governmentโ€™s Great British Summer Savings kicks in nationwide. From 1 August to 31 August, teenagers and children aged 5 to 15 can travel for free on participating services across the rest of England. All they have to do is jump on board!

Being able to travel for free means you can have more days out to enjoy the weather.

Now just lets's hope it doesn't start bucketing it down as soon as the school gates close.

๐Ÿšจ FIRST DATE UPDATE: Date number two is officially locked in for this weekend, so Iโ€™d say it went pretty well! ๐Ÿฅ‚

I was a bit anxious about telling him I blog about dating, but after a few shots, I just went for it: โ€œYou should know I publicly roast middle-aged men for a living. Youโ€™ll get slagged off at some point, but I wonโ€™t name you.โ€

And instead of running for the hills, he just laughed and said: โ€œIโ€™m bound to mess up at some point, Iโ€™m only human.โ€

Absolute legend. Not pretending to be perfect was a massive green flag.

No mind games: He actually admitted he liked me and wanted to see me again. Groundbreaking.

Chemistry on both sides: Not just the alcohol talking, I swear.

Emotional maturity: At 45, he actually knows what he wants and isnโ€™t still "figuring it out" like so many other middle-aged men on dating apps ffs.

The dog test: My dog Caramel - aka the REAL love of my life - liked him! (Though she did snap when he tried to sit next to me - it is HER seat). ๐Ÿคฃ

We had an absolute blast, but weโ€™ve mutually agreed that date two will involve significantly fewer shots. Middle-aged hangovers in this summer heat are a near-death experience. ๐Ÿซ

So... I think I may have finally cracked the code to online dating!

Itโ€™s basically just throwing out the "flirty" rulebook and asking men direct questions. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I was so exhausted by the endless messaging, the guys who want you to drive to them, and the emotionally unavailable ones who can't plan a coffee date to save their lives.

And just as I was about to throw in the towel on the app that rhymes with "Minge," I matched with a guy.

Instead of playing it cool, I sent him this rapid-fire interrogation:
