Recently we had the pleasure of welcoming a lovely lady called Eileen and her daughter to the Hope and Anchor. Eileen was born upstairs in the pub and spent her early years in the 1940s growing up here. She said the pub still seemed familiar despite not having chickens in the garden anymore! You can see Eileen’s father, John Griffiths, listed in previous landlords and also in the lower left window of the pub if you look closely! We look forward to welcoming them back any time ✨
