Barleycorn Mildenhall is a growing family run business with multiple locations in West Suffolk & the surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on providing a familiar, friendly service where we always have time for our customers.
Our cafe is located inside Newmarket Leisure Centre where you will also find fantastic gym & pool facilities as well as a soft-play.

We are looking for a member of staff to work the following schedule (minimum 14 hours per week):
Monday - 10.00am til 5.00pm
Tuesday - 10.00am til 5.00pm
There will also be extra hours to cover sickness and holidays throughout the week so we would require a certain level of flexibility. As some of our team members will be heading to university in September, there is potential for the hours in this role to be extended in the future.
Your roles and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Interacting with customers and taking orders.
- Using the coffee machine and blender to prepare drinks.
- Basic food preparation (including making sandwiches, toasties, plating food etc.)
- Serving of cakes and savoury pastries.
- Clearing and cleaning tables.
- Taking payment and handling cash.
- Restocking items on shelves and in fridges and freezers.
- Maintaining food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ensuring all processes run smoothly to support management.
- Thorough end of day clean-down.
- End of day cashing up.
- Assisting in Soft-play safety checks and basic maintenance (full training provided).
The Ideal Candidate - We’re looking for someone who has the following:

- Flexibility and ability to work in a team.
- Ability to be physically active for long periods of time.
- Resilience and ability to work under pressure... and most of all, love all things Barleycorn!
Experience in a Cafe/Barista training is preferred however full training will be given.
We are looking to hold interviews for this position the week commencing 6th July.
