Vinyl Hunter is home to a very eclectic stock of both vintage and new vinyl. Our Bury St Edmunds Record Cafe has been open for over 2 years now, and in that time we have strived to create a strong community for the large group of music enthusiasts in the area. While our pred

ominant focus is our vinyl selection, we have hosted numerous events of all description, often donating proceeds to local charities. We hope to retain our place within the local community long into the foreseeable future! With this space we aim to create a strong partnership between both stores, not only with our choice of stock but also the general aesthetic and concept. The space is considerably larger, allowing us to stock a broader range across the board, including: Rock & Pop from 60's-90's, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Latin, African, Dub & Reggae, Industrial, Wave + dance & electronic music of all description. Like at our Bury St Edmunds shop, we also aim to host a broad range of events, and will have a specialist DJ set up at all times. Another element of our main store that we wish to develop is our range of turntables and accessories, which we will begin by introducing a brand new range and bundle deal. Super excited to welcome N1_Sound across the pond for a v special live set in store!

N1_SOUND is an experimental dub producer and label owner based in Toronto, ON. They have developed a distinct sonic aesthetic through releases on their label , blending elements of trip-hop, bass weight, soul, dub, and ambient textures.

DJ support will be handled by none other than the pioneers of the East Anglian Noise Dub scene, the system destroyers ZRM!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that has come and supported the shop in 2025!

To everyone that has queued out in the cold on early RSD mornings, folks that have helped put on some special events here, and everyone that has come and picked up some great music! Your support is always felt and always greatly appreciated. It’s been a special year.

Upcoming show announcement!

Please join us on the 29th of this month for a night of very special in store performances.

Absolutely delighted to have and all on the same bill.

London/ Cambridge based musician Luke Cowan has been providing some of our fave LPs in recent years, most recently in the form of ‘Six Places’ which came out earlier this year via . A unique blend of acoustic improvisation, fractal melodies and blissful ambience which always leave us wanting more! Every piece is light, spacious, and feels familiar, providing solace and shelter from an increasingly strange world.

Alex Howard is a Norwich based multidisciplinary artist, crafting pastoral landscapes visually and sonically. Howard’s ‘Overhead’ came out at the tail end of last year as a self released cassette, and has been on regular rotation in the shop since it arrived! A beautiful collection of pieces moving through Lo-Fi experimentation, wide-plain field recording and softly layered instrumentation.

The Fenland Drone Workshop have had a very prolific year with their live shows, particularly across East Anglia. Recent shows in Norwich, Cambridge and here in Bury St. Edmunds have made them one of the most exciting acts in several counties.
Their work is mysterious, shrouded, and holds a deep folkloric narrative centred around Suffolk and Norfolk. “Bleak and repetitive music made by traumatised men”

In the early years of VH, we had the pleasure of screening one of our (top five) favourite films at the Abbeygate cinema, and it was a blast 😎

As part of our ongoing 10 year anniversary celebrations, we are delighted to announce our return to the Abbeygate with a fresh screening admits it’s 25th Anniversary!

The event kicks off around 7PM, Saturday 22nd November with staff playing some records and having some drinks and snacks, preceding the screening which begins at 20:30.

We are super excited to revisit this classic with all U lovely folks that continue to support our independents in BSE, THANK YOU🙏💖
