🏆 WE’RE PUB OF THE WEEK! 🏆
We’re absolutely delighted to have been featured as the Manchester Evening News’ Pub of the Week! 🍻
Less than a year ago we took on The Help Me Thro’ with a dream of creating a proper community pub – somewhere everyone feels welcome, whether you’re popping in for a pint, a homemade meal, Sunday roast, live music, karaoke or just a friendly chat.
To be recognised as one of Bury’s oldest and most unique pubs is something we’re incredibly proud of, but what makes this place truly special is you.
To every customer who’s supported us, left a review, recommended us to friends, sang at karaoke, cheered on the football, stayed over in a motorhome, or simply called in for a drink… thank you. ❤️
This recognition belongs to our amazing team and every single one of you who has helped make The Help Me Thro’ the welcoming pub it is today.
If you’ve not visited us yet, why not see what all the fuss is about? We’d love to welcome you. 🍺🍽️
Here’s to the next chapter! 🥂
🍻 This charming Bury pub has a name you won't find anywhere else in the world.
From The Red Lion to The Crown, most towns have pubs with familiar names. But Bury is home to the wonderfully unique Help Me Thro', believed to be the only pub in the world with that name.
Dating back to the mid-19th century, the pub's unusual name is thought to come from an old sign directing travellers between Brandlesholme, Bury town centre and Tottington.
Since taking over almost a year ago, owners Stephen and Tom Haworth have been giving the traditional local a fresh lease of life. Alongside popular cask ales, the pub now serves homemade favourites including pies, beer-battered fish and chips, and chicken tagliatelle.
There's plenty happening throughout the week too, with live music, karaoke, bingo and quizzes bringing the community together. The pub has even become an unexpected overnight stop for campervan owners travelling from across the UK.
Stephen says the best part of running the Help Me Thro' is the sense of community, with strangers becoming friends over a Sunday roast or a singalong. The couple say the warm welcome from locals has made all the hard work worthwhile, and they're proud to see so many new faces discovering this one of a kind pub.
