Mina Steakhouse has a new Pan-Asian menu. Read about it here!

Regular readers of the blog will know visiting Mina over on Brookgate near the station for years. It has always been a unique fixture in the city, offering high-energy experiential dining – complete with fire dancers, vibrant mocktails, and a proper theatrical atmosphere. But owner Jay Miah has no...

Mina Steakhouse has officially transitioned from a steakhouse to Pan Asian 🔥 (ad)

Here’s what you need to order:

Mongolian Beef: The absolute star of the show. So soft, tender, and slathered in a rich, spicy sauce.

Wagyu Sando: Made with Japanese milk bread and premium Wagyu beef. Soft, crunchy, and refreshingly unique to Cambridge.

Beef Kimbap: Massive portions, super fresh, and easily some of the best I’ve had in the city.

Korean Chicken Bao Buns: Pillowy soft bao paired with thick, crunchy Korean chicken in a gochujang glaze.

The Burger: Built with double Angus beef patties melting into a cheese-soaked bun. Pure gooey paradise!

They’re also still the only place in Cambridge doing a proper Seafood Boil! 🦐

If you’re near the station and want big, bold flavours with a proper side of showmanship, get yourself down here.

Have you ever had a Caribbean Sunday Roast? Head to the Cambridge Market to The Caribbean Barn now!

As part of my ongoing quest to try every single food stall on Cambridge Market, I recently found myself checking out The Caribbean Barn. Operating every Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, they bring a taste of the island sun to the square. On this visit, I decided to tackle something truly distinct: thei...

I headed to to hit for a Carribbean Sunday roast! 🇯🇲

If you are in a Sunday roast rut then this is a great place to go for something feisty and exciting. For £15 you get jerk chicken, Yorkshire puddings, roast potato, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, along with rice and beans. This is then loaded with onion gravy.

Mango juice is also available which really hit the spot on a summer's day. The chicken has a spicy warmth but won't blow your head off.

Make sure you check then out Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

I headed to Tradizioni, your local Italian for a birthday meal. I couldn't think of anywhere better to spend on a hot summers afternoon 🇮🇹

Being a foodie content creator means I am constantly asked what my favourite restaurants in Cambridge are, but it is always an impossible thing to answer. What constitutes a favourite depends entirely on my mood, the situation, or the budget. Running the Cambridge Foodies blog means I am free to vis...

I get asked my favourite places to eat all the time, but it’s always an impossible choice. Running the blog means I’m usually picking places based on what’s good for the readers, visiting areas I’ve missed, or watching the budget.

So, for my birthday, I gave myself total free rein - and one place kept calling my name: Taste From Hungary on Chesterton Road.
I’m a massive fan of Germanic food, which shares so many historic ties with Hungarian cuisine, but Cambridge has always been poorly represented. Until now. They do one of my absolute favourite dishes, so I popped in to celebrate my...21st birthday in style!

Here is what we feasted on:
🔥 Lángos - The ultimate Hungarian street food. Deep-fried bread that arrives hot and golden, slathered in garlic sauce, sour cream, and grated cheese. Heavy, messy, and absolutely brilliant.
🍷 Beef Stew with Red Wine - Slow-cooked with a proper hit of paprika. Rich, thick, and packed with deep, soulful flavour.

🍖 Roasted Pork Knuckle - The absolute star of the show. An oven-roasted rustic feast served with roasted potatoes. The pork was beautifully soft, tender, and unapologetically indulgent.

If you want an authentic, independent comfort food feast that hits the spot, do yourself a favour and check them out.

If you’re looking for a slice of Rome right here on Mill Road, you need to head to . I stopped by for my birthday, and with their new outdoor seating, it’s easily the best spot in the city for a sunny day.

Here is what we had:
Grilled Seabass: Cooked the authentic Italian way and served with mussels, croutons, fresh tomatoes, and salad.

Antipasto Board: A perfect sharing board featuring Prosciutto Umbro, olives, salami, and imported Italian cheese.

Square Pizza: Thin-based, perfectly cheesy, and loaded with pepperoni right to the edges.

Desserts: A soft, delicate tiramisu and a vegan basil panna cotta.

Wine: A bottle of Accenta Cuvée, a fruity Sardinian white that paired perfectly with the fish.

It was the perfect way to celebrate another year. If you’re passing through Mill Road, do yourself a favour and stop by.

😭😱 more tragic news! 😱😭

To our amazing Bagel family,

It is with very heavy hearts that we have some sad news to share: Bagel & Bagels will be closing our doors permanently, and we are stopping all trading immediately.

This means we will no longer be at markets or events, sending orders by post, or supplying wholesale.

Over the last 6–7 months, my health has deteriorated significantly. I’ve been waiting three years for an operation for a hernia, and now we’re also dealing with heart issues and waiting for further tests and consultations. The intense heat in the kitchen, long hours, constant pressure, and stress have just taken too much of a toll – it’s simply not doing me any good at all.

On top of that, working 7 days a week, often 15–18 hours a day… financially it just isn’t rewarding enough to keep pushing myself this hard, and I want to actually spend time with my family too. It’s time for me to step back, slow down, and look after myself properly.

I know this will come as a shock to many of you, and we are so sorry to say goodbye. We will miss every single one of you more than we can say. We’ve made such incredible friends here, so many of you have been with us right from day one, and your support has been absolutely epic. Thank you – from the very bottom of our hearts – for every kind word, every purchase, and every smile you’ve shared with us.

We don’t know what the future holds yet, but we know this is the right decision for our health and our family. Thank you for being the best part of this journey.

At this time, I am not taking phone calls and anything that needs sorting, or you need to get a hold of us. You can send an email to [email protected].

With so much love and gratitude,
From all of us at Bagel & Beigel 🥯💛
