World Cup fever is now over and we have our Sweepstake winners!

Second place with Argentina was Jane Tibbitts who wins £26

Our winner was Charlie White who drew Spain and won £70

Thanks to everyone who took part, we hope you enjoyed it. It was certainly a talking point amongst you all and we had some great banter!

We’re closed today, but the kitchen is still busy — I’m in preparing a freshly made funeral buffet for tomorrow.

A gentle reminder that we offer outside catering for wakes, community groups, meetings and small events, all prepared in‑house with care.

Back open as normal on Tuesday from 10:30am

We’re getting everything ready for opening at 10:30am, and it’s already looking like a busy one — we’ve got lots of lunch bookings in the diary today.

This afternoon we’ve got Bingo from 2pm, always a friendly, relaxed session if you fancy joining us.

We were fairly busy today — thank you to everyone who came in and kept the place buzzing.

Our Toast & Jam session was another brilliant one, with several lovely people joining in for singing, strumming and a really relaxed afternoon atmosphere.

A big thank you to everyone who popped in, joined the music, or grabbed something to eat or drink.

Toast & Jam runs every Wednesday at 2pm — everyone welcome.

Its Tuesday!
And it’s been a busy one already — thank you to everyone who’s popped in this morning.

We’ve got Company & Cake from 2pm, if you fancy a chat, a cuppa, and something sweet.

In the kitchen today:
• Orange & lemon trifles — light, bright and summery
• Caramelised biscuit mousse pots — silky, sweet and a little bit indulgent.

It’s been an incredibly hot day, and usually that means people stay home — but last time we closed because of the heat, lots of you came up and asked why.
So just to be clear: we’re open, even in the sunshine, and we really do rely on people popping in when they can.

Today was a very quiet one, quieter than we can manage long‑term, and we’re very much a
“use it or lose it” little place.
If you want The Old Bakery to stay here for the community, your visits genuinely make a difference.

We’ve got our new lunch menu, the kettle will be on, and tomorrow from 2pm will be Bingo.
