A message from Tim
Thanks for the memories!!!
It’s funny isn’t it…. You take an empty building, put some tables and chairs in it, a couple of beer taps, some kitchen equipment to make food, and you fill it with amazing people to run it…. And you end up with a warm, welcoming hub of a community. A safe space for many people. A place where you may have the only conversation you have with anyone that day. A second home. Some where you’ll feel welcome and can escape the day to day grind. It was always more than a building for me. So much more than a job.
When I moved here almost 7 years ago, the Queen B as it was, was in a sorry state. And with a lot of blood, sweat and tears… and the help of some incredible staff… we made the Moulsham Inn.
The pub was weeks away from being boarded up 7 years ago, and although I’m very sad and sorry we are now closed, I know I can leave you my head held high, proud I gave it 7 more years.
Just wanted to update everyone on where we are now…
Andy, my assistant manager has moved over to the flaming grill in Sidcup, The Jolly Fenman. Karen, one of my team leaders has moved to the Duke of wellington in Hatfield Pevrel. Paige another team leader transferred over to the Baddow barn, as did Daine. Nicki moved over to the Downham arms in wickford, Josh secured a job with Greene king after moving away for uni. These guys are an absolute asset to Greene king and I’m so happy they’ve stayed with the company. Sophie got a job across the carpark in Lidl, Elle has now finished her level 2 NVQ in hairdressing and is off to be a qualified hairdresser. I don’t know what a hair dresser is 😂. Scott you ask…… Scotts more than busy enough in his actual full time job and only did 2 shifts a year anyway 😀
Me…. Well it’s been a tough few weeks finding a General Manager job locally but I’m happy to say I’ll be staying with the company and moving over to Hungry Horse. An exciting new adventure and opportunity awaits me there. Follow The Pub Man on TikTok for updates 😂
So all that’s left for me to do is say thank you. Thank to my amazing team who went through the closure with me, you guys are truly legends and I love you all. Thank you to the amazing team I’ve had over the years, some legends in this photo!! And thank you to you, the amazing general public who supported us from the Queen B days to the newer customers and regulars and friends we made through the years.
It’s been emotional.
But for now, it’s time at the bar
