BEHOLD!! this weeks market fish main course offering, as part of our 2 course for 29£ offering on Wednesdays.

Pan fried salmon, hispi cabbage, soft boiled egg & caesar dressing.

In celebration of the World Cup I thought we could pay homage to 2 of the 3 host nations. Invented in Mexico, claimed by the USA. (Like most other things AM I RIGHT)?! Suppose we could say Canada added the salmon if we want to include all 3 host. Yeah… let’s go with that

It’s basically a deconstructed caesar salad. Welcome back to the early 00’s everyone.

I’ll be honest I’ve done some scientific reading over the weekend and this plate has the literal perfect ratio of fats, protein and carbohydrates to prepare you for the elation/depression** of the England game on Wednesday night. I even promise to have you in and out for kick off.

It’s back baby, & just in time for summer too!

That’s right, this season must have accessory has made its overdue return to its spiritual home.

Sticky glazed beef feather-blade, thrice cooked chips, truffle and Parmesan chips.

Back on, until it isn’t. Probably about 6-8months

With one hand it giveth the other hand taketh away.

With the arrival back on the scene of the big beefy boy something needed to give, and that something was this pork belly & boudin noir dish

It truly was a fan favourite, so I’m sure it can make a reappearance in the future

Pork, hazelnut, & leek terrine, chicory & apple salad

I love pork, I love chicory, I love making terrines.

This dish is an absolute shoe in for an all time great starter

Chilled tomato gazpacho, salsa Verdi & croutons

My summer fling with tomatoes continues. But seriously this has to be an all time summer starters GOAT.

4 of you 5 a day all served it a chilled bowl, what’s not to love. And, let’s be honest probably hits harder than the first larger beer of holiday food

Moules marinières, with a side of Ushers Bakehouse sourdough

The bread has just finished its basic training and stands ready to take care of any mopping up duties you might have.

Proper certified bistro gear with plenty of garlic. This one’s for the lovers out there

Let’s take it to the next level though and order a side of fries.

It’s my wedding anniversary on Saturday, and we honeymooned in Turkey. So this is my tribute to that

Traditionally made with a minced lamb, I’ve gone with quorn to keep it veggie. A hearty feast of spiced tomatoes, rice & ‘meat’ all served with a fresh Tzatziki

I’m also known for stuffing vegetables, so I’m surprised it’s taken me this long tbh. But we move

Final warning!! Last few days to get this months bistro menu. I’m not saying I’m already over it, but my mind has wandered to next months, which coincidentally I’m very busy preparing at the moment to launch next week.

Full photo shoot incoming to get those juices flowing. But, in the meantime let’s give this menu the send off it deserves.

🚨Will somebody please sound the new menu additions klaxon 🚨

Summer is finally here, and probably disappearing tomorrow. Which I’ll be honest, I’m not sad about. I’m more of an autumn guy

But let’s revel and discuss in a medium amount of detail, our new dishes on the menu

As always our menu evolves with the season, so we like to drip feed our changes through, as the produce we like to cook comes into the season.

All these are fresh on this week and are HOT TO GO!!

It’s always good to have a little look back on our ever popular Kitchen Notebook events after we have taken stock and digested our feedback cards

Some proper plates of food here and some that need a slight tweak, but that’s the aim of these events.

Pictures are as follows;
Rabbit leg, Dijon cream sauce, smoked bacon & fine beans - coming soon
Pea and ricotta tart, caramelised whey dressing - on the menu now

Tasting tasting 1, 2, 3 mic check 1, 2, 3

This coming Wednesday we’ll be hosting our hex weekly menu development tasting extravaganza.

Full disclosure I’ve already decided the rabbit leg is going on the menu full time, but the jury is out on the rest of it. I would really love to get the cod dish on, so let’s hope that’s a banger

We’ve got a couple of tables spare for both sittings, so it would make a perfect treat if you’ve forgotten to get your dad a fathers day present

S’appin

It’s that time of the month again where we start to get misty eyed over our current crop of bistro dishes before we bid them a fond adieu to the big recipe binder on the sky

I know I say this EVERY damn time, but. I think this has been one of the strongest menus to date. That pork loin dish is a great lunch, especially if you are obsessed with chicory as much as me

But, as always we have knuckled down and come together with some more delicious treats your you next month

See you tomorrow lunch time? Let’s be honest, it’s better than a meal deal, and much like a holiday maccies, you can even a some booze with it
