Starters:
Samosas and tarmarind chutney
Laksa and coconut bao buns
with salad
Mains:
Quorn Katsu curry with rice
Vegan sausage and potato tray bake
Puddings:
Chocolate gateau
Lemon meringue pie
Fruit salad or crumble.

Nearly time for another Waste Not Cafe. Next Sunday 5th July.

Don't forget to bring your lunch boxes so you can take home some seconds. We are running out of old takeaway boxes etc.

Bao buns
French onion soup

Vegan stir fry
Veggie chicken ham and mushroom pie, with veg

Figgy pudding and custard
Rhubarb crumble and custard

If you don't know what Bao buns are (I didn't), you'll have to come along to find out!

We received a great variety of food in the delivery from Fareshare this month. It included many of the usual things like onions, potatoes, tomatoes and tangerines. But some more unusual items like samphire, fresh dill and pak choi.

Thank You for your donations 🙂
Each year after serving monthly Waste Not Cafe meals at the Baptist church, we usually find we have some money left over to donate to local foodbanks. This year has been no different and so we have donated £1000 shared between four foodbanks: Gussies Kitchen Pantry shop, Tupton foodbank, Chesterfield foodbank and Monkwood Food hub. Thank you to the foodbanks and food hubs for all the help you give to Chesterfield people. And thank you to all our diners who come to eat at Waste Not Cafe for your generous donations. We're back serving a Waste Not Cafe meal on the first Sunday in May.

Sunday 3rd May 6pm to 8pm
at the Baptist Church on Cross Street S40 4ST

As usual it will be a 3 course vegan or vegetarian meal for a suggested donation of £2.50 per person, or pay what you can. Kids eat free.

As you know we didn’t have enough volunteers to do the meal in April, but we asked Fareshare to send our delivery to Gussies kitchen pantry shop instead, so rest assured the food we should have had did not go to waste.
