FANCY A CAREER IN SPACE? COME TO THE HOSS TONIGHT FROM 7:30(ish).

Its a little known fact that every NASA astronaut has one thing in common.

Theyve ALL won a game of Bingo. Thats because the Astronaut selection programme involves aspiring space cadets to play on the first day of the process

They even have their own calls
"Apollo f**k up.... one and three... 13"
"Giant Steps for Mankind... one its own, number 1"
"Top secret base that definitely has no aliens in it. 5 and 1, Area 51"

While this might sound crazy, its perfectly logical. NASA simply doesnt want naturally unlucky people dicking about in its rockets.

So if you fancy being a Space Cadet (or you just want a laugh and to play some Bingo) come and see Philip Richardson with us from 7:30, and get some practice in.

POSSIBLY TRUE HISTORY OF BINGO PART 3

On the night of the 15th of April, 1912 the RMS Titanic sailed for New York. Lulled into a false sense of security by clear weather and a calm sea... Captain Smith organised a moral boosting game of bingo with his crew.

It was a great success, especially with the lookouts who abandoned their posts, drawn in by the promise of big money in the flyer

Little did they know what would happen next!
"ICE!" Someone shouted
"Was that Five? Weve already had 5? Whats going on man"
"I think he said House? Bloody hell man... i only needed one"

And the rest is history. But you can learn from History. And the lesson here is dont play bingo when you are responsible for a bloody big ship sailing full pelt through an ice field.

Its a little known fact that Bingo was vastly popular in Ancient Rome. In fact some (admittedly not very reputable) historians believe that the Colloseum was the first purpose built Bingo hall.

In fact the reason its in the state its in today, is because of a riot that happened when someone sat in a regular players favourite seat.

Its also Bingo at the Hoss tonight from 7:30ish. No rioting though, because we're not Romans.

As we're aware theres a football match on, we will be aiming to finish to make kick off. But you are welcome to bring tablets or phones to stream the match after the match

🍻 Happy Father's Day Weekend 🍻

Today we're raising a glass to all the dads, stepdads, grandads, foster dads, mam-dads, father figures cat & dog dads and the people who've stepped up when it mattered most.

The ones who've fixed things with a bit of tape and optimism.
The ones who've handed out life advice that only made sense ten years later.
The ones who've taught us how to laugh at ourselves, work hard, and always have "just one quick pint."

Families come in all shapes and sizes, but today is about celebrating the people who support us, guide us and occasionally embarrass us in public.

To say thank you, bring your dad (or the person who's been a dad to you) down for a pint on Father's Day.
