Welsh menus plus 33 individually-designed rooms and six self-catering apartments. The Bear is the historic heart of the charming market town of Cowbridge, where everyone eats, drinks and sleeps well, from locals to business travellers to international tourists.

Ever since anyone can remember, it’s been the town’s go-to for getting toget

her - catching up over a drink or a coffee, meeting for lunch, celebrating with family and friends or staying over with the children or the dog.

We invite you to explore The Bear and find your corner among its intriguing nooks and crannies and eclectic mix of spaces.

Eat and drink al fresco all-year round in our stunning contemporary glass Cube, the most modern of beer gardens; plan your celebration in our 18th Century ballroom or our contemporary St Quentin’s Suite; tuck into your Sunday roast in the stone-vaulted Cellars restaurant (where Napoleon and his soldiers had a rather less hospitable stay); sample new flavours at our real ale bar; or simply sink into something delicious and locally sourced from our various menus next to a roaring log fire, as the kids take on our Bear Hunt around the hotel. If you’re staying over, take your pick among our individually designed, beautifully appointed bedrooms or self-catering apartments.

With boutique shopping and plenty of options for romantic strolls or bracing dog walks all on your doorstep, we’ve got all the recommendations you need for making memories at The Bear.
