This week we said goodbye to Alex who has been with us on a 4 week work experience placement from college. We have been really impressed with how well he set up the cafe and tidied away at the end of service. We also appreciated how willing he was to try new jobs and he gave 100% every week, even receiving the coveted Star of The Week award during his time with us.

🌟STARS OF THE WEEK🌟

Massive congratulations to our stars this week.

Alex is with us on a short term work experience placement from school and this week was his third week. He’s doing really well in our busy and noisy cafe and he’s taking on new challenges with willingness and enthusiasm. We’re loving seeing his confidence grow with each week and we’ll be sad to say goodbye to him on Tuesday.

Prentice worked hard and was a strong team player this week. He focussed on his tasks and listened well to staff.

June is Learning Disability Pride Month.

What makes Learning Disability Pride different from other Pride events?
Learning Disability Pride is about being proud of having a learning disability. It celebrates the experiences, strengths, achievements and identity of people with learning disabilities.

This year, Learning Disability Pride is being celebrated throughout June, giving people the freedom to take part in a way that works for them—whether for an hour, a day, a week or the whole month.

There are many ways to get involved, from sharing a social media post and meeting friends to organising a community celebration.

However people choose to take part, the message is simple: be proud of who you are and help make Learning Disability Pride a celebration for everyone.
