Hours available: Every other Monday night
Every Thursday night
All day Saturday
Roughly 12-16 hours per week with the availability of more hours covering people on annual leave

No experience required but would be helpful, the position available includes working on the till, serving customers with exceptional customer service, general cleaning and helping with stock.

🎉 Happy Friday everyone! 🎉

The weekend is finally here!

We’ve had a fantastic week so far and have been incredibly busy. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of treating all 70 members of South Durham U3A, delivering 70 portions of cod and chips to Cockerton Club for their celebration lunch. 🐟🍟

Tomorrow brings another special occasion, as we’re catering for a lovely lady celebrating her 90th birthday with a fish and chip party! What a wonderful way to celebrate. ❤️

A huge thank you to all our amazing customers for continuing to support your local chippy. Your support means the world to us and keeps us doing what we love.

We’re expecting another busy day today, so if you’re planning on popping in, we’ll have plenty of delicious fish and chips, along with our popular soft serve ice creams waiting for you!

🥔 New potatoes will be arriving very soon! 🥔

Did you know that potatoes are seasonal, and different varieties fry differently?

Here at Cockerton Fisheries, we always strive to source the best quality potatoes, with a preference for locally grown produce whenever possible.

At the moment, we’re coming to the end of the old potato season. Potatoes at this time of year naturally fry a little drier and darker due to changes in their sugar content during storage.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be receiving our first deliveries of fresh new potatoes. They’re absolutely delicious and have a lighter, fluffier texture, although you’ll notice they fry to a much paler golden colour.

So if your chips look a little different over the coming weeks, don’t worry—it’s simply because we’re using the freshest seasonal potatoes available! 🥔✨
