Meet The Team Tuesdays !!

Hello, I’m Lydia 👋

I started working at Teign Bean this spring at our teignmouth site, after working in a ski resort in Japan for the last two winters.
I’m moving to London in September to complete my masters in Dietetics, which I’m very excited about!
I’ve been a barista for 6 years, working at cafes in Newcastle, where I studied, and across Devon. But nothing beats the location, the team and the sweet treats at Teign Bean!
When I’m not working, I love travelling, running, cooking and spending as much time in the sun as I can!

Teign Bean has in recent months been receiving vast amounts of enquires from persons under the age of 18 enquiring about employment opportunities via social media, telephone, What’s App messages and emails of which I unfortunately don’t have the time to respond to. I would like to try and reach said persons to advise them that unfortunately we have decided that we will no longer be employing persons under the age of 16 years of age and those applicants between the age of 16(16 yr olds must have left school) and 18 years will need to be assessed and pass a strict risk assessment to ensure their safety, well-being and also to ensure they meet, and are suitable to meet the needs and legal requirements of the business based on the role that they are applying for. For nearly ten years we’ve very much enjoyed employing and helping develop young people at Teign Bean and it’s been a joy witnessing their deserved successes however the time has come to re-position and reassess how we recruit our workforce and justify the needs and demands of the business as we continue to grow. We will of course continue to support and meet the needs of our current younger team members who are very much appreciated for all they contribute to at Teign Bean.
