Locally sourced, freshly prepared dishes from breakfast to lunch and tempting sweet treats to accompany any coffee date. Under new management, The Dinner Bell Bistro bridges the gap between gourmet coffee shop and gastro cuisine, offering a variety of top quality meals served by qualified, experienced Chefs. Previous ownership has provided coffee and cafe fayre, however, we're not a cafe anymore!

We have upped the game and are able to produce gastro cuisine without the price tag. Our menu's will evolve gradually with our transition and soon we anticipate opening in the evenings with a BYO option. Good things take time, though, so keep an eye on the page and see how we grow! There's always work to be done in this garden. I've decided her fashion sense isn't perfectly manicured, its more along the lines of 'ah bless... at least she tried' 😁 my strimmer broke mid way through work yesterday but thankfully I had my trusty hedge clippers (big up to Temu for their £16 quid garden gear offer 🤟) so we have a semblance of box hedges making an appearance again 🙂

We loved having so many people marvel at the garden yesterday, and we thank you for appreciating the casual dining experience with us 💕

We already have a few bookings for steak night on 5th June, despite not having a menu completed 🙈😊 However, we will be running it as we always do- preference of steak is essential when booking so as to not disappoint with items running out; our options are 8oz sirloin/ribeye, 6oz fillet and 1/2 roast chicken, and I will update with our starters, toppings, sides and sauces soon 😀 We will be able to cater for veggie options only if requested at time of booking so as we can facilitate stock adequately =) we won't take bookings via messenger because I'm heart scared of double booking so reserve in house or by phone, and a staff member can take your details =)

Regardless, the garden will be open next week!

With the garden soon to be open to our customers, I feel I should state a few points that we have had to implement due to past experiences.

🚫We do not allow dogs in the garden- previously, we have had minor confrontations from some bypassers telling us they were going to take their fur babies to the commons but instead they're 'just gonna let them run around the walled garden'. 😳Unfortunately, we aren't a dog park and we have agreements that we are legally obliged to adhere to. There are a couple tables at the front of the bistro that dogs are welcome at if you wish to dine🙂

🚫We are NOT a playground.
Children are very much welcome, but they MUST be supervised by a parent or guardian AT ALL TIMES. Previously, we have had a child swing on the chains around the pond and fall into it, some children stuck by prickles and stung by stinging nettles whiles trying to get to off limits areas and others falling out of trees where they have not been supervised. Other times we have had to stop children throwing stones at each other😢 we don't want to see anyone hurt or soggy!😢

🚫We do NOT operate as a picnic area.
We all work so hard to make good food, brew good coffee and give efficient service that we just dont have time to be volunteer litter pickers from people leaving their brought in food wrappers and drinks containers strewn around the garden. Only food and drink brought from the db may be consumed on the premises.

Lastly, we want the garden to be a spot to relax in and enjoy, where the birds can aid in calming hectic thoughts, and the flowers can offer a cacophony of aroma to assist in inducing tranquility. A place where memories can be made, laughter can dance in the wind and friendships can strengthen over good food and good coffee ❤️
