Perch Pool is a small campsite suitable for Scout, Explorer or Network camps and water activities

the site is near Tuckton Bridge in Bournemouth and has access to the river Stour, making it ideal for raft building, kayaking or sailing

the site offers a basic camping area which is available during the spring/summer period (the site can flood during the winter months) and has a small indoor hut which includes a meeting room, kitchen, toilets and showers

Started work on the Perch Run at the Camp site ..... long term project, but we making headway in clearing the channel.

1) Campfire and area reclaimed from Brush
2) Willow Trees removed off the River Bank
3) Signs denoting Private Property redone

All we need is ⚜️ Campers now .... Covid-19 take a hike, a very long one as such 🤣

Thanx to Jeremy Sullivan (Site Warden) and Bob Cudmore (ESL) for their time in removing two massive tree stumps on the grass camping verge and selecting a suitable place for the Flagpole @ Perch Pool Scout Campsite.

Hope to see you all in the not too far distance when Scouting returns F2F.

A couple of more hours need to clear the ‘Bramble’ ..... the maintenance never ever stops!

Perch Pool Scout Campsite is a small riverside site by Tuckton Bridge on the banks of the River Stour.

The site comprises of a camping field including a BBQ area and access on to the river via a private slipway.

There is a small hut which includes a small kitchen, toilets and showers and a small hall with tables and chairs. Visitors cannot stay in the hut overnight. The site is ideal for youth groups looking to use the site as a base for water activities on the River Stour.

We welcome Scout and Guide Groups, schools and other bona-fide youth organisations from around the World.

Bournemouth is a fantastic venue for short breaks or a longer stay. Enjoy seven miles of award winning beaches, the New Forest, the Jurassic Coast or the beautiful Isle of Purbeck – there’s one of the largest selection of tourist attractions anywhere in the country, with something for everyone, including Brownsea Island, the birthplace of Scouting!

CHARGES (1 January to 31 December 2023 inclusive): £4.50 per person, per day.

We do not provide any camping or water activity equipment or instructors at Perch Pool - you must bring everything you need with you.

Perch Pool is a local, friendly campsite, owned by Bournemouth Scouts and are operated entirely by volunteers.

Perch Pool is susceptible to flooding in extreme weather conditions and, as such, camping is only offered during the summer period.
