A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support us and keep us busy! ❤️

It's a real privilege to work with some of the finest produce, caught and delivered fresh every day by some fantastic local suppliers.

Today's highlights include:

🐟 Line-caught seabass

🐟 North Sea halibut

🦞 Dunbar lobsters

🦀 Dunbar crabs

A big thank you to our fishermen and suppliers who make it possible for us to serve the freshest seafood on your plate every day.

Fresh, local, and straight from the sea to The Creel.

And on a side note, we're getting busier than ever, so please book in advance where possible. We were completely full tonight and unfortunately had to turn away a number of people. We'd hate for anyone to miss out!

🍽️ Sunday Lunch Returns – Sunday 28th June

We're delighted to announce the return of our much-loved Sunday Lunch on Sunday 28th June.

From June through to December, we'll be serving Sunday Lunch on the last Sunday of every month – so make sure you mark the dates in your diary.

Why join us?

🥩 Local Spott Beef

With imported beef appearing more often on menus, it’s not always clear where everything comes from.

Our Sunday Lunch features beef sourced directly from a farm in Spott, just a few miles from our kitchen. We think it's good to know where your food comes from, and we're proud to serve beef with a clear story from farm to plate.

👨‍🍳 Cooked with Care

Perfectly roasted and expertly prepared by our chefs, every plate is designed to celebrate quality local ingredients.

🍷 Our Signature Gravy

Made in-house from rich beef bone stock, fine wines and port, our gravy is slow-cooked to deliver incredible depth of flavour.

🦞 The Best of Land & Sea

Being so close to the harbour gives us access to some outstanding local seafood. Subject to availability, local lobster and crab may be featured alongside our Sunday Lunch menu.

Menus and pricing will be revealed closer to the date, but one thing never changes – our commitment to exceptional quality and value.

📅 Sunday 28th June

📍 Booking is highly recommended.

We weren’t sure if we were going to make a post on this, but there’s a cause gaining real traction across hospitality that’s crucial to the longevity of independent sites.

Restaurants are forced to charge 20% VAT on every meal served, while many of the sector’s biggest costs, such as raw food, are VAT exempt. This makes it harder for hospitality businesses to offset VAT compared with many other industries.

Since 2006, the UK has lost around a quarter of its pubs, and independent restaurants are facing similar long-term pressures with rising costs, tight margins, and ongoing closures across the sector.

The campaign is calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%, to ease pressure on businesses and help protect the future of the industry.

If hospitality matters to you, please consider signing the petition.

🦀🦞 Fully booked today and all of tomorrow at The Creel! 🦞🦀

A huge thank you to everyone who has visited us and for all the feedback we've received — it's been nothing short of incredible. ❤️

We're proud to serve Dunbar crabs and lobsters landed directly in the harbour just outside the restaurant, bringing the freshest local seafood straight to your plate. ⚓🌊

Another big hit has been our 60-day aged beef sirloin. 🥩
The cattle are raised in the Borders and fed on spent beer grains, giving the beef a distinctive flavour that's proving hugely popular with our guests.

And if you're after steak and lobster, why settle for second best? 🥩🦞🔥

Thank you again for all your support — we can't wait to welcome more of you over the coming weeks. ❤️

Evenings at The Creel are getting very busy and we’re often fully booked 🍽️

Lunchtimes are also popular, but we do offer a bit more flexibility for walk-ins.

Join us for lunch Tuesday to Saturday, 12–2pm, where we serve a casual menu based on the best of the day’s produce 🐟

We aim to sell out each day so we can start fresh the next, ensuring the best possible seafood.

Please book ahead where you can to avoid disappointment 📞
